- Oregon State and UC Davis are meeting for the fifth time and first since 1930.
- OSU has won all four of the previous meetings, which occurred from 1927-30. All four games were held in Corvallis.
- UC Davis head coach Dan Hawkins is 1-2 previously against OSU, while serving as the head coach at both Boise State and Colorado.
- Michael Frisina and Brandon Huppert, quality control analysts for the Beavers, have both served on the staff at UC Davis. Frisina was the special teams QC in 2021, while Huppert was the defensive line coach with the Aggies from 2017-20.

It is not gamesmanship. They don’t make an effort to produce it. This wouldn’t matter if there was any press that covered the team, even the Davis Enterprise largely basis their coverage on athletic department press releases, so not producing content really cuts back on information about the team. They don’t grasp that they have to self promote, and that needs to be broader than just a few name players.

Fresno is just a dump of a city. When the economy went into the crapper so did the standards. A lot of those Fresno State rooters are townie losers who live vicariously through the bulldogs because their lives suck and they live in Fresno.

I hope you did not stay in any of the hotels/motels nearest the campus. Roach motels. It's actually funny to read the reviews and proprietor's responses on hotels.com . There's one owner/manager who was blaming his place's lack of cleanliness on having to pay high taxes so the US could provide HIMARS to Ukraine.

I occasionally go the Central Valley to see some minor league baseball (Stockton, Modesto, Visalia), , but I tell you I would never go see a Fresno Grizzlies game again. The downtown is all boarded up and the fans are stupid and disrespectful. On one of my trips to Visalia the local news had a story about someone getting off the bus on Blackstone in Fresno and immediately getting stabbed in the neck at the bus stop. I thought "Sounds about right for Fresno" when I heard that.

I imagine that Fresno State gets a lot of community support the same way that fans out here in Hawaii support the Rainbows: they're the only game in town.

At the presser, Hawk seemed pretty upbeat about the OSU game, but as he said OSU may actually be a top 10 team. I don’t think the Aggies have ever faced a team this good. Absolutely no weakness that i could discern.

It's going to be a huge challenge for sure.

Expect a huge game from Damien Martinez. While UC Davis is a very talented team for the FCS level, their front seven will have a difficult time stopping Oregon State's backs. The smallest of the three Oregon State RB's listed on the depth chart is 222 pounds, while the Aggies are simply not as big or physically built to slow down the size and speed of the OSU backs. Look for Martinez, Deshaun Fenwick, and Isaiah Newell to feast behind what should be a dominant performance from the Beaver O-Line.
Martinez and their o-line may have a huge game but not because Davis is “simply not as big”. Davis starting front three are 6’2 347, 6’5 251, 6’6 251, linebackers are 6’2 240: 6’2, 237, 6’2 237. Most the DBs are good size.

I watched their game against SJ. Martinez is a beast. Pac 12 offensive freshman of the year, athletic freshman all American first team, it goes on and on.

Not saying he wont run over them; he just won’t do it because they are small. I think the 247 preview was lazy, just assuming an FCS team is small, They are bigger than San Jose State.

I think the thing that will be so hard for us that was mentioned in the presser, is how that they have so many players who not only have great size but they have speed, agility and athleticism to go along with their size. I just hope we don't get physically beat up and come away with injuries.

So is the pac 12 network the only way to watch the game remotely?

This guy predicts OSU 55-10 or so. Check out the cushy seats that they have now in Reser Stadium too.

That was the game where a friend went and was teased by Bulldogs fans, They said "You may be a better school than us but we're better at football than you!"

BaseballAtDobbins. My daughters were not teased but verbally accosted outside the stadium. I have been to hundreds of games and 50 or so venues it was by far the ugliest scene I have ever witnessed.

Back in 2006 or 2007, I went to a junior college basketball tournament at Chabot College in Hayward. Pretty low attended tournament as you might imagine except in games that Fresno City College played in. They brought actual fans, not just parents or friends. There were probably maybe 100 or more fans cheering for Fresno City with people decked out in gear and pennants.

I had a similar experience with my kids at Sac State. Foul language directed at my kids in their Aggie gear. I learned to stay away from their tailgate area.

The Oregon QB is huge at 250#s but not fast. The Spartans stuck with them for 1 1/2 quarters at 7-3.

No. Boise State was. The Aggies did quite well in that one as I recall.

Anybody know about the status of Rex Conners? His twin brother saw action last week but not Rex. Could really use him to shore up the defense against OSU.

Maybe they were both in the game wearing the same uniform # so as to play a fun prank on the fans ?

I think it was the Spartans who ran a play I'm not sure I've seen before. Two TEs came behind the QB in a short yardage situation and helped push him forward.

I like Chubba as a FB or pulling TE in key situations.
