Nice! I'm cautiously optimistic about this team given the success that we had the trip to Europe and the scrimmage at Portland State. I'd love to see us back among the top teams in the BW conference battling for the title.
I'm a little more skeptical. Doesn't help that we lost two of our top 3 scorers from last season. Consistent play from Peppers is key, but I don't have much confidence in Jim Les seeing as how we struggled despite having an SEC talent (Ezra) on our roster.
Can't argue with your point. Losing a known stud like Ezra is definitely going to be tough to overcome. We'll have a better indication of where this team can go after next week, with two challenging road games and a home game against Cal Maritime.
Cal struggled, only beat them by 7. I believe CS played zone, neither team shot well from deep. Cal reportedly had all 4 PGs out at one practice, that may have contributed to their slow start. Bear fans down on the coach. 5-15 in conference last year. They have an average 7'1" center, a PG who has transfered 2x, and one 6'6" G and 6'8" F who look promising.
