The only bad play the offense had was Miles not throwing the ball away and taking the sack. Perfect game from them otherwise. Defense has looked somewhat susceptible to the run today.
As to San Diego being in the Pioneer League with all those east coast schools, it doesn't make much geographical or economic sense to me, given the cost of travel. The WAC has teams in Texas and Utah which are closer.
But Pio is non schollie and they can get players who are willing to have academic scholarships to play football in sunny San Diego (and their basketball teams are WCC too).
I think USD would rather give discounts for non athletic scholarships and add more men and more diversity to their school. Even though they have to travel, it's still cheaper than competing in the Big Sky or possibly the WAC. They have a good team but don't need to spend funds they don't have for FB scholarships.
