So no one scored in the first 4 minutes or so of the fourth quarter, but seven fouls? I generally don't like it, but it may be enough for an Ags win if they keep it up.
The trapping zone defense that LB was using was very effective and created a lot of problems for us. They would trap the ball near half court and then cut off the passing lanes. They did it so well that it almost seemed like they had 6 players on the floor. Great win for the Aggies against that kind of pressure.
It seems like a cyclical thing: team gets pressed/trapped, turns ball over a ton, team relearns press/trap breaking, opponents stop because they are giving up easy buckets, team forgets press break, repeat...
For those that were watching, the turnover at the end of regulation, was it a bad inbounds? I was listening on the radio and all they said was it was inbounded to the corner and that’s usually a no-no because it allows the opponent to trap. We had a timeout left so it wasn’t like we were forced to inbound it.
That inbound pass was the turning point. Inbound from the sideline and Turner got it down near the corner along the sideline. So bad choice of where to throw it. Then Turner didn't move immediately. She waited until the double team came (a second or so) and then tried to split it but got tied up instead. Why a timeout wasn't called either before the inbound pass or just as the double team came I don't know.
