Is it possible that any of this years class enrolls and plays this spring? JC transfers seem likely but even high school students often have enough credits to graduate prior to final semester.
Do we usually expand the class during the winter signing period? It seems like some guys will hold out, hoping to get an FBS offer and when it doesn't come they sign with us later.
I know this is just early signees, but it’s odd having so few “skill position” players. When have we ever recruited no QBs or WRs? Not that we lack at those positions.
Just three or maybe four offensive players total today
The December signing period is technically the early signing period, but it's become the main signing period over the last couple seasons with those signing in February being the stragglers. Not that they aren't bad players or anything, just majority sign in December.
Langley is listed as athlete, but he played mostly WR/RB which is where I'm guessing he'll end up. Coach Plough made a Twitter post basically saying that Dixon from last season is kinda like our QB signing of 2021. He'll definitely be a red shirt. Defense heavy class for sure.
Am I reading this right that we're beating San Jose State for some of these recruits -- literally a ranked FBS team (though admittedly a surprise this year)
Year to year we get several guys that have FBS offers, mostly from the military academies and the Mountain West Conference. We even on occasion get some guys with Pac 12 offers as well, for instance from last recruiting class OL Rumary (Arizona) and TE Ambagtsheer (Utah). I'm not sure anyone predicted San Jose State's success this season.
SJS did very well in recruiting this year, based on the article I was reading today. Hopefully they can keep their coach - he’s being mentioned for Arizona job
