On top of the brutal schedule, Cal Poly is running a completely different style offense with an OL recruited to run the triple option, no recruited TEs (Baldwin’s offense uses multiple TEs) and a roster that is heavy on running backs and short on WRs. I think 2020 they will be improved with an improved culture, but I think it will take at least 2 to 3 years before they are a true threat to win a Big Sky Championship.
we may have been the only school in the nation that got in their spring football. some schools got a couple practices in, most got none. in the grand scheme of things, that's a minor thing....but.....we'd have been going into fall without having those workouts to figure out the new QB. hope all the kids can do some training and rehab on their own.
Three CSU schools — Sac State, Cal Poly and San Jose State — are on UC Davis’ 11-game fall schedule that begins Aug. 29 at Nevada.
Reports UC Davis Athletic Director Kevin Blue, “I’ve spoken with several of the CSU athletics directors from Division I and they’ve explained that the news hasn’t changed their preparation for fall sports.”
I think almost definitely it means that...and if the Aggie offense repeats it's stagnation in 2022, there's going to be a lot of punting once again next fall.
