The Lehigh game notes are above, but they are a pass oriented offense. They appear to be shifting their O line around for our game, so we may see them do what Cal and USD did with the run, which unfortunately was effective against our D. But during the last few games, they averaged 50 yards per game.
they gave up a lot of yards on the ground v Villanova so i would expect us to try and establish the run. They played Villanova close for the half and score might have been closer if they had concert on some of their several fourth down tries. New coach with nothing to lose. I expect them to throw a lot. Time to get a pass rush going

I sure hope so. Seems like that USD Qb had all day to throw. Then when we blitzed their RB Martinez would burn us one way or another. BTW, I think this SD team is really good, we just might see them in the playoffs.
Not sure why the quote is multi colored, wasn't from me.
‘The early morning kickoff meant people heading to Toomey Field had to drive through a thick Bay area fog to get to the stadium. That included longtime UC Davis head coach Jim Sochor, whose car ran out of gas in the foggy morning and had to walk the final half a mile to the stadium.’
Kathy's Korner, of course. A few months back I was racking my brain trying to remember that name, scouring the DavisWiki.org articles about closed business. I'd eaten literally hundreds of sandwiches there over the years, from high school through trips home. You'd think I'd remember; somehow despite the similar hundreds of beers at Mr. B's and the Grad I didn't forget them.
I'm so old, I remember when the Grad opened.
Thanks for both those links recalling the 1977 game. I had borrowed my dad's battery operated TV, and we could watch the TV instant replays.
I remember Foster had a photo in his office for years, of the D stopping a Lehigh runner. He'd say, 'there're eleven gold hats on that guy; that's Gang Tackling!'
But I haven't seen this photo in years, from that last article above. Wally Loving's mom had this one framed in their kitchen (she and my mom were great friends).
15 QB Mike Moroski; 81 TE (at 180 lbs) Wally Loving; Head Coach Jim Sochor.
As well as young, we were all so skinny back then!
There will be a contingent of Lehigh fans. I came across an alumni notice from them about the weekend ( Friday in old sac, tailgate in lot 56, etc). Always fun to see visitors. Apparently Lehigh was a growing alum population in the Bay Area ( we hired a post doc from there a couple years back)
I think that scheduling Lehigh and SDSU was a masterful move by Blue and Hawkins. Opponents like those bring up so many memories among Aggie fans of old. They know that the fans who followed the Ags during the DII glory years are ones have longed for a return to greatness the most. They are also the fans who will open their wallets first to help support the team achieve their goals. Then, hopefully, once we become an annual playoff contender, the students and new fans will get behind the team.
Everything you need to know about tailgating at UC Davis from a Lehigh fan. Theyll be serving vegan tacos, no lie.
“There is going to be a Lehigh Tailgate at the game in Lots 5, 6 and 7.”
Lets see, thats over by Solano park housing. They must have meant lot 56. Might be some hungry vegan meal seeking Lehigh fans looking for their tailgate.
I had talked to Fred Arp about this when he was helping with scheduling. He said a challenge is that the Ivy’s start late and only have couple non league games. Hard to get them to fly cross country for an opener v a team with 2 or 3 games under their belt. Hard for Big Sky team to fly cross country prior to opening conference (an early bye would help)
I wonder if SoCal alum kick in big bucks to help with travel expenses to entice them. Harvard goes to USD next Saturday
you would think the Bay Area Ivy alum would be interested in seeing their team play. Up until last season, i'd say that Poly was a tougher matchup than Davis
“For those of you not familiar with the national FCS scene, UC Davis is currently ranked No. 4 or No. 5 in the country, depending on your favorite national poll. They are there for a very good reason - They are stacked.”
