I just don’t understand some of these brackets that are out there already. One has Weber as an 8, and others have different flaws (if you will) that make me instinctively discredit them in my mind.
I saw that weird one with Weber at an 8 no way thsts happening. I think the “no bowls”, hero guys,
And Craig are all solid. Really interesting to see what the committee does W/ UCD/Colgate.
I think JMU has earned a seed with the last two weeks result and 1000% they won’t put them as the 8 seed potentially putting them against NDSU that early. They’ll be the 7 seed imo.
To me the top 5 seeds are set:
NDSU, Weber, SDSU, Kenny, EWU would be my personal order but they could end up in any order.
Then I think committee will slot JMU at the 7. This leaves the 6 and 8 seed for these three teams: Colgate, Maine, & UCD. Now this JMU at 7 is important. If they are the 7 then how would you put Maine below them since Maine was the CAA champ and auto bid? So in this scenario they become the 6. That leaves Colgate/UCD for 8.
This is what I believe the committee will do not what I think shouid happen. UCD resume > Maine resume (Maine has an FCS win but a two FCs losses including a bad one vs W&M. (They might have two wins over playoff teams if Elon gets in).
It comes down to Colgate vs UCD for a seed imo - this is how I think the committee will view it.
And the committee’s simple rating system is more favorable to us than Sagarin’s because:
1) it give a bonus for FBs win
2) factors in wins rather than pure points
3) limits impact of scores at 21 point differential.
All good points. I hope I’m reading this wrong. I’d love to see a 6/7 seed but not sure the committee goes that way. One hour or whenever this hoops game ends (which I’m sure won’t be on time...)
