Caught some interviews on the local news channels last night with eagles players. They are a cocky bunch. The coach seems very complimentary of the Aggies.
My fourth trip to see the Aggies in Cheney and the first time I'm making the trip with real hope. Looking forward to a great game. I'm also optimistic that we'll get some sunshine.
It has been 243 years for the United States Marine Corps as they celebrate their birthday today.
Leadership lessons from General James "Mad Dog" Mattis.
Of note, General Mattis was born in Pullman, WA and raised in Richland only two short hours Southwest of Cheney. The "Warrior Monk" enlisted in the USMC in 1969, was commissioned a second lieutenant after graduating from Central Washington University with a degree in history. CWU is hanging on to Division II football...playing Humboldt State, Western Oregon and Azusa Pacific each twice a year during the regular season.
No kids and never married, General Mattis has devoted his entire life to the study of war.
I have a feeling some of those lessons would come in handy today in Cheney.
I think the team that plays the best defense and makes a few more critical stops and/or take-aways witll win this game. Our defense needs to play their best game of the year.
Have been watching the Kennesaw game this morning they have their hands full leading 17-14 at half as 25 point favs. This is their first true halfway decent competition this year. They trailed but found their way in the 2nd. Interested to see if they pull away or are in a game. Needless to say a loss here by Kenny would help the Ags immensely win or lose today.
The Eagles have just 12 players from California on their roster (including their new QB)...most are from Washington, Idaho, Oregon - they know this weather.
Gotta break through that shock and get going early!
Fire it up Ags!
