Farley seems like a very nice guy. Sort of reminds me of SDSUs John Stiegelmeier Who is a class act.
A contrast to Montana’s Hauck who looked like it was killing him to say anything good about Doss when asked by a reporter during the post game interview. I had to admit that I enjoyed seeing him squirm.
i would assume that anyone can visit the food/beer trucks in the student tailgate, but i'm not positive. i thought it said something about showing ID to get into the tailgate. maybe you can do the 'reverse beer buy' -> 'hey kid, can you buy me a beer and pizza?'. like when we were high schools hanging out by a 7-11!
it was easy once i got to Davis....i got there the year AFTER they rescinded the 'no alcohol sales within 1 mile of campus', so buying beer at JJ's or the other liquor store out on Westlane (about 1.01 miles from campus) was really easy!
I agree the UNI coach seems like a class guy.
However, opposing coaches are often more complementary pregame than post-game. Montana made us seem pretty tough pregame
"...opposing coaches are often more complementary pregame...."
Lou Holtz could be getting ready for a game against the Northwest Dakota Southern School for the Blind at Lesser Grand Falls and talk it up like they were playing the New England Patriots.
I was at Davis when it was L&M or Jake's out near El Macero....and the old-timers in that era used to talk about having to go to Frenchy's on the south edge of Woodland.
Right. If you build up the opponent pregame you soften the impact if you lose and gain more credit when you win.
After the game, saying the opponent was really good sounds like an excuse, so coaches focus on their team’s mistakes.
Excellent article on official website about our defense by Bruce Gallaudet
About our multitude of linebackers. I didn’t know that Moe came here as a DB
I plan to get there early, after a pit stop at the Plainfield Station. Hang out with AgAlum and Finn at their spot. Wander over to Mike Angius' spot, where there tends to be alot of former players and coaches. Finally finish at the hospitality tent for the final fuel for the day!
If anyone is hanging around town after, I'll be staying downtown trying to find an establishment where i don't feel like a chaperone! suggestions?
