The report from Folsom comparing the Hatters to a high school JV squad was a bit off, they have plenty of size. What they lack is speed and D1 skill. Hats off to Stetson, too, for playing pretty solidly. They'e allowed no sacks and have no penalties. UC Davis is just too much for them. Also, it seems like Cleeland has settled down. He looked impressive in that last drive.

If Cleeland can hit the open guys like he did on the last drive consistently then we will be okay going into conference play. We cannot, however, afford to require the entire 1st half of every game to get settled in. That strategy won't work against Montana.

Stetson has moved the ball ok against their FCS opponents, but have not put up many points. Defense has been their biggest shortcoming. Same tonight.

South Dakota State dropped 70 on Stetson just as a reference. I don't want to complain too much about only winning by a certain margin, but I just feel like we're lacking a certain sharpness to our offense. Take away the punt return for the TD and we're at 24 points by the offense more than halfway through the 3rd quarter.
