If Pinnick does well, maybe he bounces again and goes up another step.

This is the new normal unfortunately. It’s the new normal everywhere including the “top” programs.

I'm disappointed that Pinnick left, but will drive over a couple of times to see him play in Pullman. It's only eight miles from Moscow.

It's being reported Vargas is committing to Cal

Good choice for him especially considering the other schools he was looking at. Great degree and a chance for a big impact. The davis/cal Pipeline/trades continue

I don't mind sending Cal our players who have graduated and have a year of eligibility left. I won't particularly be rooting for Vargas if I'm being honest, not wishing him ill or anything, but if he doesn't find success with the Bears I won't really be broken up about it.

“Yee and Dubin Sports” is proudly announcing the opening of their new Davis California office soon. Yee, a sacramento native, will be actively engaging in the representation of UC Davis athletes in their quest for NIL deals and to further their development. Initial meeting with the athletes is without cost, thereafter there will be a 33 1/3 fee attached to any recovery for the athletes. Yee and Dubin will strive to work entirely for the athletes benefit.”
Yes, I know, a fake post. I have no objection to attorneys representing athletes. But, let there be no mistake here, they are perhaps unwittingly on a fateful March to kill the golden goose that is college sports as we know it. Only a matter of time.
New King Hall law school course to come: “Representing the Athlete” 4 units. “Space limited due to high interest”

I just don't understand what donors would continue to part ways with their cash only to see the athletes turn around and leave. I just don't get it. That happens only one time and that wallet is closed. Now, schools like Davis make a little more sense, granted their retention rate is higher, but still. I'll bet we have 2, maybe 3 years of this before big donors (at other schools especially) throw in the towel.

The whole agent thing is gross. Poking around the families all the time trying to drum up business whether the kids know it or want it. Trying to create interest for a kid before he even enters the portal or is a client, or is even aware, then pounce.
College football is in bad shape.

Looking forward to what Aden Jackson can do next season. Talent-wise he seems like the guy to chip in most with Fisher.

Agree 100% on the shape of college football and how gross it is.

Jackson was a horse in high school. I remember seeing him in a TV game, outstanding player. Our RB room is solid behind Fish. Aside from the young Jackson, you have Acia who took meaningful carries and Walsh who saw time on special teams duty. Going to be interesting to see if the portal offer to the one Running Back pans out.

On the bright side, I think this Demond Williams debacle will light a fire under governing bodies to make some changes. Hopefully, positive ones.

That situation is proof that schools are offering money in return for signing longer term commitments, so them holding the athlete to the commitment is an example of changes being made.

That agent also represents Jedd Fisch so makes sense he would stand with Fisch. Apparently college football's favorite villain Lane Kiffin and LSU are going after Williams.

Yep- CFB is a mess, it's still my favorite sport... although my interest may be waning.

Sounds like the guy doesn't want to get sued by UW or anyone on the horizon
