It's 20 past midnight here in Paris and my wife and I are happy Aggie fans! Great win by beat up Aggie team that simply finds a way to win regardless of how many key players are not playing. Gritty, gutty win by the Ags!

It looks like their rushing game has been up and down this year. We held them to 76 yards rushing, which nobody seems to gave commented on. Are their RBs hurt?

I feel like we shut down #20 who had a good game against Sac.

Davis surprisingly has a good run defense, after seeming poor earlier this year.. Before this game Davis was second in the conference in least yards yielded per carry.

Defense played phenomenal. Glad to see Riddick get awarded the INT at the end. Thought he flew around all game, stud

Was on a plane this entire game so didn’t watch. Happy to see this win but surprised to see Harper in the box score. Thought it was a typo. Looks like Pinnick was sick?

Yes, Thursday night, didn't travel. Ags played well in the first half, then hung on.

I was driving back from a hunting trip in N. Montana and caught most of the game on the radio. I was so happy for Harper in the first half but the second half was really painful to listen to. It started reminding me of that close game in Portland. Will be back for Idaho State. Go Ags!

Enjoy the win and Paris. My wife and I were there in May. Defense did well and so did special teams. Running game solid. Didn’t know Grant Harper was cramping - might have been why he sailed a few in second half. Glad offense was on in first half.

Why do broadcaster think that Jr. is part of a last name? It doesn’t need to be called out on play by play. Same thing with other teams that put Jr on the back of uniforms. We had a couple of juniors in the game one on each team and i think junior was said fifty times,

    From Bob Dunning's Substack column:

In the absence of starting quarterback Caden Pinnick, the Aggies turned to veteran Grant Harper. Pinnick did not make the trip after coming down with tonsillitis.

“Grant was a real stud for us today,” said Plough. “Coming in under really difficult circumstances at the last minute, he was really, really good in the first half and was really struggling physically in the second half, but everything he did really made me proud of his effort.”

“I’m just a spectator until the offense is done and they send me in,” Ridley said. “It felt good off my foot. When I looked I knew it was good.”

Feel.nothing but pride for the team coming out with the road W and such a splintered roster. All that BYE time and Pinn couldn't even play! Thanks to Harper for gutting it out and making the plays we needed. The Defense was in full Blue Force mode, what a performance. Great kicking by Hunter as well. Team win.

In the second half Harper was hurt and kept playing. Notice Plough says he,was struggling physically.
At the end of the first half i believe he hurt his foot. From that time on he was not the same

    Plough said Harper had cramps.
In the second half they ran Harper too much, some appeared to be planned runs.

Pinnick was described as sick, not injured; the bye week doesn’t help that.

"Pinnick did not make the trip after coming down with tonsillitis."

Caden could be out another week, depending on how they treated his condition.

Pinnick came down with tonsillitis on Thursday. Hopefully, antibiotics will take care of it and he'll be ready to go agains Idaho State.

I thought he was cramping- you could see him trying to stretch both calves to work them out.

It’s a W - not a masterpiece but a win none the less. Defense was outstanding - take away the fluky 50 TD before the half (got them back in it) and we hold them below 300 yards and 10 points!

Harper’s performance in the first half (and the game plan to put him in situations where he should shine) may have saved the season. A loss there and the playoff possibilities get much tougher. I think the defense made adjustments to take away those crossing patterns and nice patterns to Fisher . Maybe the cramps had an impact also. But, in the end, we walk out of Greeley with another win.

Dial up the pressure this week and hopefully 2 halves of solid offense. Another must win coming up.

Hard to believe that with a 17 point lead late in third quarter with the backs Davis has and Harper having physical issues that they didn't run more with the backs, not Harper.
They waited until the fourth quarter and then did precisely that but with an eight point lead. They knew Northern Colorado was vulnerable to the run, giving up over five yards per carry. Plough has to engage in a little.self.critique about his play calling in that game.
Fisher and Vargas ended up each just a few carried away from 100 yards days.

    A win is a win.

Hopefully over the next few weeks, we stay health and get back a few players that went down in the first part of the season. Especially in the secondary. Also, I believe we can play Freshman AND preserve their eligibility if they play 3 regular season games or less. I do not believe playoff games count.

Any word about the appeal we made to the NCAA about getting the Connors brothers a medical redshirt year?
  • movielover
    620
    Agreed.

I'm not up on the intricacies of it all, but one argument might be we don't want a Bye Week if we want to maximize playoff games in order to qualify to bring the Connors Brothers back. Their return would certainly be huge and set us up for a top-8 ranking next year.

On AST we still show that we close out 2026 w Sac State. (We end next year w a lot of home cooking and a Bye.)

I didn’t realize Greeley is about 5000 feet - probably a big cause of Harper’s crsmps
