2021 season is May 13 to Sep 20, according to google, so it looks like it overlaps the NBA playoffs and then wraps up before the NBA teams start camp. There's a pause at some point in there for the Olympics.
Morgan scored six and got three rebounds in seven minutes of play in CT's preseason win over the Wings yesterday. edit: Those seven minutes were the least of anyone on the team--at least she was efficient with them!
CT needs to trim down to 11 players for the regular season and only likely has two vacancies; Morgan's name didn't pop up in any of the discussions I read.
Bummer. I wonder if she will continue to play abroad now or begin to pursue her biomedical engineering career? Jen Gross had said she would welcome her to coaching also.
ps. Morgan made a steal on a bad pass from Sophie and scored on a last second breakaway to end the scoring in that game. Morgan's line for the evening: 7 pts, 3 rb, 2 as, 2 st, 2 bl in 30 min.
pp.s she's playing on the same team as Megan Gustafson again--random!
Two Big West women among the initial* 88 players that declared for the WNBA draft: Amy Atwell (HI) and Jayden Eggleston (CSUB). Also a guard from Sac State on the list: Lianna Tillman.
Like last year, it's going to be a tough year to be drafted--lots of players, very few open spots.
*players in the Final Four have a different deadline.
