This is really starting to get crazy. If anyone had told me at the beginning of this recruiting cycle that we would have 30+ commits this year I would have thought that they were bonkers.
I wonder how many of the early Gould commits no longer have offers. You add to the fact that JC transfers typically do not count as Fall 2017 enrollees due to being mid-year transfers. Or maybe Hawk forgot that he is not at a FBS program......:-O
They usually start coming in fairly early in the morning, but they will come in all throughout the day. I'll be up early tomorrow watching the twitter feeds, hopefully won't miss any of the action!
According to the guys over on the Cal Poly board, RB Emari Demercado has committed to CP per the SLO Tribune. I haven't seen anything on twitter from him on this, but I'll put it down for now.
Great minds think alike, I was halfway through posting a comment about Harmon dropping his Cal Poly commitment. He's not coming here, I also think he got a last minute deal from Cal. I remember articles being posted before he committed to CP that he wanted to play for Cal.
Kyle Harmon committed to Cal tonight. Interesting recruiting trend with two local colleges, CAL and San Jose St. With new head coaches, both are recruiting local talent very hard. San Jose St hired Alonzo Carter, former head coach at Contra Costa College as their recruiting coordinator. The man can recruit!
I don't know what sort of grade I could give. On paper, 32 recruits is hard to comprehend, given that FCS schools carry a max of 64 scholarship players. Looks like Hawk found a creative loophole. This should address the issues of depth that injuries exposed.
Lots of local talent on this roster. I suspect many of the new recruits will need to contribute immediately.
By the way, my post from two hours ago actually was from the day before NLI day. For some odd reason, it just posted.
Maybe it was a combo of partials, greyshirts, and early commits that counted against last year. But then I don't get Gould not using all his slots last yearly, unless he was surprised by some early departures.
