Have learned we will be playing in the Continental Tire Classic in Las Vegas. The field isn't fully set. As of now we will be playing N Carolina A&T on dec 22 in las Vegas. Will play a second game on the 23rd against an opponent to be named. Also, as part of this tournament will play at Nevada on Dec 17.http://www.bloggingthebracket.com
I was all excited when I first started searching but then realized the Continental Tire Las Vegas INVITATIONAL is the premier tournament held at the Orleans Arena in November.
I did the same thing, 6th. There is a November tournament and a December tournament. We're in the December Vegas tournament and, just for a little more confusion, it appears that there is a Hosts' bracket and a Visitors' bracket.
We are definitely playing Nevada in Reno on 12/17 and then we are listed in the Visitors' bracket semifinals on 12/22 along with NC A&T and 2 other teams TBD. The Visitors' finals are scheduled for 12/23.
Nevada is listed in the Hosts' semifinals bracket along with 4 teams TBD.
The December 22-23 Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic appears to be struggling to find participants with only Nevada-Reno and the Ags listted at the moment. Most of the the other similar tournaments have their fields set.
We play Northern Colorado 2 times this season. Nov 13th in Colorado and they come to Davis on Nov 29th. Not sure whats up with playing a home and home in the same season.http://www.uncbears.com
Excellent news about the game at WSU. Those of you who know me know that I've been bringing my two kids to Aggie games since they were toddlers. My daughter will be a senior at UCD, so her loyalty has never been split. My son, though, starts Wazzu in the fall. He's been to every home men's game (and a handful of away games, including the BWT) the last two years, so this game in Pullman will really test his Aggie loyalty. He's already planning on watching as many aggie games on-line as he can, but it'll be nice that he can catch one in person this year.
San Francisco and S Illinois have been added to the line-up for the Las Vegas tournament. Both are in the host bracket. I am guessing our game at USF is considered a part of this tr.
I figured our games in Las Vegas would have been played at the Orleans casino. They won't be. This tournament is being held at the South Point Casino.
Wazzu game looks good on paper but their RPI at the end of last year was 166, Pacific was at 223, and we finished at 166. USF ended at 94 and is so far the best team we'll play unless we face Nevada (29) in the Las Vegas tournament.
It's interesting that Long Beach, who consistently plays one of the most difficult OOC schedules in the nation, appears to have their schedule completed and no one else is even close to completing their schedules. I'm curious as to who made this spreadsheet?
Huskies were awful last year and it cost Lorenzo Romar his job. UDub hired the top assistant from Syracuse to take the helm so the Huskies will be in rebuild mode.
One of HC Mike Hopkins' hires should ring a bell...former Seattle U HC Cameron Dollar is now an assistant with the Huskies.
The scheduling format for this tournament is really confusing. It appears that we play at Nevada on December 17th and the semis and finals are in Vegas on December 22-23 with other earlier games for hosts and visitors TBA.
The field is set with the Aggies, Nevada, San Francisco, Southern Illinois, Lamar, Duquesne, North Carolina A&T and Radford.
