• FCS Playoffs Round 2: UNI @ UC Davis
UC Davis must be the only D1 school where the school needs to make a conscious effort to get students to drink MORE on gamedays, not less.

That being said, it's seriously a great idea. RAs can get some of the freshmen walk over but hopefully upperclassmen turn out big for the cheap beer.

I think Aggie Stadium needs Kat more than the G1 Center environment does but I wouldn't be surprised if the pro team takes priority.

For clarity though, she's more of a stadium emcee to introduce the entertainment during timeouts than an Aggie Pack emcee. The Pack still needs student leaders in the trenches teaching students cheers, when to shout, when to stay silent, shouting "I WANT A SACK!" on a crucial fourth down stop, etc.

Same, maybe it's rose colored glasses but even the 2012 Aggie Pack seemed better than we currently have. I know an MC who was pretty good graduated in '13 and after that the leadership seemed to bounce around and was less consistent for the rest of my time there.
  • MBB 11/20: Aggies (1-4) vs Sac State (1-0) at the Golden 1 Center
I mean it was basically a tossup; if Siler's last shot had bounced in the last thirty seconds would have been pretty different.

I suspect this season will wind up like Siler's and Garrison's freshman season -- the team will lose some games it shouldn't and go through growing pains but scrape out a mid table finish in BWC play
  • MBB 11/20: Aggies (1-4) vs Sac State (1-0) at the Golden 1 Center
same plan for me; today was a glorious day to forget to pack lunch
  • MBB 11/20: Aggies (1-4) vs Sac State (1-0) at the Golden 1 Center
If anyone wants an extra GA ticket, my coworker had something come up so now I have a spare
  • Schmidt Back with the Bills
Great stuff. Wadman joins an elite crowd of Aggies who have completed a pass in the NFL
  • FCS Bracketology
I never even got to see a 6-5 season...
  • Week 12: Big Sky
Actually, UCD, EWU, and WSU all losing would let ISU tie for the title and (I think) get the AQ, now that I think about it.
  • Week 12: Big Sky
Oh dang I forgot they lost to Poly.

Hmm, that means there's now a path to winning the outright Big Sky title, albeit a slim one.
  • Week 12: Big Sky
Am I reading this right that four different teams are in play for the Big Sky autoqualifier?

    EWU if Weber loses

    Weber if they win

Idaho State if they win, EWU loses, and Causeway is cancelled

UCD if we win, EWU loses, and Weber loses
  • Week 12: CAUSEWAY
so it looks like up 80 is better, but you need to start approaching Tahoe to see a lot of improvement.

FWIW I had to call the ticket office today and the rep said they're still treating the game as if it would be on. It would be very late, like Friday night, if they made a determination that it needed to be cancelled. That may not be an official Athletics Dept position, just the impression froma staff member, but it's worth noting
  • Week 12: CAUSEWAY
Air quality in auburn/colfax area looked decent this weekend, except in evenings. An 11 AM game would be fine at Colfax, and it's just up I80.
  • Week 11: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington
remember, supposedly there is a bidding process the first round, no seeds outside of top 8. I don't think there's a way for us to guarantee not having a home game
  • MBB: ESPN Will Telvise 4 Aggie Games
Edit/Addition: According to the Big West forums we have two ESPN2/U wildcard dates available this season. No need to panic yet.

  • MBB: ESPN Will Telvise 4 Aggie Games
Pretty sure this doesn't necessarily exclude Davis from getting an ESPN2 or U game this year. The ESPN3 broadcasts are from a Big West-specific unit that only operates in SoCal. The nationally broadcast games are "wildcard" picks that they normally wouldn't schedule this early in the season. Remember that during the first conference-winning season, the second ESPN date was only announced in January or something after Davis won the first one in OT.

If we build it, they will come.
  • WBB 11/7: Aggies at #7 Stanford
I had almost forgotten what it was like to see an Aggie team get slaughtered; this week was a reminder. Brings me back to undergrad.

But I don't think/want to believe the sky is falling for the men or women. Looks like both of them were having bad days against quite good teams. (Stanford especially has an unrealistic height advantage on the Ags that Big West opponents won't have.)
  • MBB 11/6: San Francisco @ UCD
Dons are good, Aggie shots aren't falling. I turned it off, I'm kinda suffering from information overload tonight with multiple monitors going. Bad idea after work.
