• 2024 Week 12: #2 Montana State (10-0) @ #4 UC Davis (9-1)
So far, this game is receiving the overwhelming number of votes for FCS Game of the Week over on the AST Forum. Right now, the game has received 28 of the 32 votes that have been cast which equals 87.5% of the votes.

So, for a second week in a row, all eyes are on an Aggie game which goes to show just how much attention the Aggies are getting this year and just how much national publicity the team is generating for the university. This is a great example of how college athletics can help draw additional attention to the university as a whole in addition to the university's highly regarded academic reputation.

The AST Forum has been around for very long time and there are a lot of very knowledgeable members on it who follow the FCS closely. It's free and easy to join so, if you are interested, here's a link for the forum:

That makes 14 commits total if correct. Does anyone know the total number of scholarships we have available for this recruiting year?

I seem to remember we had a pretty good crowd for UNI game and the crowd was more vocal in their support than the typical "politely quiet" Aggie crowd.

    11/12 Games:

Riverside 80 Cal Baptist 79 - Great game and comeback by Riverside. These two schools are crosstown rivals and Cal Baptist won last year by the same score.

UC San Diego 64 Sac State 54
Aggies 80 Menlo 70 - the Ags escape the upset...
  • Menlo College at UC Davis, 6 pm Tuesday, Nov. 12
The final score was 80-70 Ags but the game was closer than that most of the night. The Ags got the win but it was not pretty or confidence building and if we play like this on Sunday at Stanford, it will get ugly fast.

    Some thoughts:

    - Our defense was not good and we got caught asleep at the wheel way too often. Menlo scored quite a few points on back door cuts and they were able to effectively drive to the basket for layups way too often.
    - We have not shot well from 3 in any of the games so far. We are now 18-71 only for 25%.
    - Landon Seaman of Menlo was the best player on the floor tonight. He scored at will against Rocak and his quick spin moves left Niko flat-footed on several occasions.
    - Menlo was the aggressor and they never let up. I think the Aggies thought they were going to walk away from them at some point. Give Menlo credit. They played harder.
    - Tamba has made great progress from last year and we sure need some scoring from him because we can't just depend on TY and we're not seeing much scoring punch from anyone else so far.
    - Carl Daugherty showed that he can shoot and I think he'll continue to make progress as he gets more playing time.
    - We saw Nils Cooper for a few minutes for the first time and he looks promising.

28-21 Menlo with 7:42 to go in the first half. Aggies are being totally outplayed on both end of the court.

Menlo came to play tonight...not so sure about the Aggies...

Such a great interview with Jake! I only had time to listen to Jake so far but will tune in for the rest later. You guys continue to hit it out of the park. Man, the excitement is building up fast!

Yes but he's been injured a lot since he arrived here so we've only seen him actually play for a few minutes. He has a beautiful shot and he can drain 3's but the big question is whether or not he can defend like Les demands of his players and how well can he hold up to the physicality of the D1 game.

Always great! Looking forward to listening to it later today.

    11/11 games:

Bakersfield 86 North Dakota State 81
    Hawai'i 76 Pacific 66

I watched a good portion of the Bake game and the runners are very much improved over last year. They came back from an 11 point halftime deficit and beat a solid NDSU team. The Runners shot 58% from the field and they have a lot of quickness and length. They could make some noise in the Big West this year.

The Cats have a very impressive, articulate head coach. He seems to know the Aggies like the back of his hand. I certainly don't think we're going to out coach him; this game is going to be decided mano-a-mano on the field by the players.

I'd take that draw. Villanova would be a tough opponent.

We're frustrated with it in our pressers too. I mean, how hard can it be to pass a handheld mic around?

Ha ha...nope...I'm actually a retired shrink so I've got the gift of gab! I've been told by folks before that I would have been a great salesman because I like to talk with folks and exchange stories...my wife just rolls her eyes at times...

Just wondering if tickets are still available, my son may be in the Bay Area for work at the end of the week and has been thinking of extending his stay to attend the game.Cats2506

There are seats still available. Most of the Cat fans will be in sections 101, 102 and 103 and there are still seats in those sections. That's on the east side of the stadium. The west side has some seats available as well but that will predominately Aggie fans.

Here's where you can get tickets:

First of all, welcome to our forum and thanks for taking the time for giving us your thoughts about the game.

It looks like there will a lot of Bobcat fans making the trip to Davis and, in all likelihood, they will be louder than us. We don't have the kind of fan support that the Montanas and the Dakotas have especially with our students but there's a lot of excitement about the our team currently so, hopefully, that will put more fans in the stands. Plough is really trying to build the fan base here and make our house a difficult place for visiting teams to win.

Cat fans will find a very welcoming environment here. There won't be the huge amount of tailgating that you are used to in Bozeman but Aggie fans would love for Cat fans to stop by and say hello. Hopefully, we'll have a good, exciting, injury free football game on a beautiful fall evening this coming Saturday.
