Fullerton just beat Long Beach 66-62 for their first conference win of the season. The Titans come to Davis on Wednesday.

Ags grind out another road win 66-62. Manjon and Pepper led the way again with 16 and 15 respectively. Mooney and Gonzalez had an off shooting night. We held Lamine to 9 under his average with only 19 and Gomez had 22 but we effectively stopped everyone else on CSUN.

One of the ESPN3 commentators said, "Jim Les gets more out of less than any coach in the country."

I didn't see that. I was away from the computer and just got back. Looks like this one is going down to the wire. Neither team is shooting well.

Ags lead 20-29 at the half. We've had a ton of good looks but are shooting only 31%...could have been up by double digits with decent shooting. Someone needs to catch fire in the second half to have a chance in this one.

You've got some nice shots there, abridge. I think the whole set shows the how physical the game was. The shot of Toole getting absolutely getting clobbered on a layup demonstrates the physicality of the game and a couple of her elevating for a shot are very nice of her too. Manjon started out like a ball of fire this season then went through am awful shooting slump before getting back on track. Pepper has been a workhorse on defense and the boards in every game but he seemed hesitant on offense but his offensive game is starting to come around. He's tough as nails and gets rebounds despite not having the length and quickness of many of the bigger athletes he battling with in the paint. They're both going to be the future leaders of the team.

Les does a great job of molding a smart, disciplined team together even though we don't often have the length and quickness that many of the Big West teams have. I'd love to see us get a couple of athletic players with height and length to help give us more of an interior presence but, if we can't, then I'm happy if we can win with a 4 guard lineup that can knock down 3's at a high percentage and drive the ball to the hoop.

Koehler is a tough defender and has a nice jump shot as well but he lacks quickness inside against more athletic bigs. He also very competitive and has a bit of attitude, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, until he gets T'ed up. That's happened a couple of times this year. He's crafty with a little push or hook here and there and gets under the skin of some of the bigger players he's matched up with. I don't think that will serve him well in the long run.

Wow...sounds like the Aggie coaching staff is changing rapidly. I wonder why this is happening? His bio is still up on the Aggie football roster and, as Mike said, there's still an active twitter account for him.

I thought our defense was pretty good and getting better each year under Tucker. He also had great recruiting connections for SoCal since he recruited that area during his HC tenures at West Valley College and Los Angeles Valley College.

I'd be fine with this too but I think that finding a quality opponent to replace this game could be tough. I would think that most teams have their schedules for the 2021 season already set.

I think we were up 9 with 24 seconds and barely hung on but a win on the road in this conference is huge regardless of how we won. Our first half was about as good a half of basketball we've had this season. The Ags were led by Manjon and Pepper...2 true freshmen...that bodes well for us...

I was watching this game periodically while watching the Niners. Sanders caught fire from 3 and hit 5 of them as the Ags sprinted out to a 24 point lead late in the 3rd quarter but then had to hang on as Hawaii cut the lead to 5 late in the game. This is a good win for this team after the disappointing loss at Riverside. I'm sure Gross won't be 100% happy with them nearly squandering a 24 point lead though.

The Ags shake off an ice cold first quarter and take a 10 point lead at the half 27-17.

We got off to a terrible start in the first 3 minutes and it seemed to set the emotional tone for us for the rest of the game even though we got within 3 late. We started the game with 4 TO's and had 6 TO's in the first 3 minutes. Riverside shot 64% in the first half so we were lucky to only be down 8 at the break. We don't have the size and quickness that they have and their defense disrupted us from getting into any offensive rhythm.

They were the better team tonight from start to finish. I think they could be a sleeper in the conference this year.
