  • Baldwin out at Cal Poly
“Personally, this position as head football coach at Cal Poly is one that I and my family have dreamed about for several years,” Wulff added, “having an opportunity to lead a football program that offers elite academics and a commitment from administration, alumni and boosters that will allow for our coaches and student-athletes to compete on the field of play for conference and national championships. Currently, Cal Poly is one of the few universities in the western United States that offers these opportunities.”

“Paul Wulff is the right person for this job,” said Oberhelman. “He knows our roster inside and out, he has been very active in recruiting this incoming class, and he can help lead The Climb that is currently underway.

“Although the record may not have been indicative of this, our team was markedly better this past season, and with many key contributors returning and getting healthy, I’m excited for what the 2023 season holds,” Oberhelman added. “The president and I both felt strongly that continuity would be the key, and Coach Wulff will continue to work with the current coaching staff to further develop this team.”

  • Deion Sanders Named Head Coach at Colorado
There is that...I wonder if he will also take quite a few of those 4 and 5 star recruits with him to Colorado via the portal.

The Aggies would have been a serious threat to any of those top 8 seeds.
  • WBB: Aggies (3-3) at St Mary's (4-3) 5 p.m. Saturday 12/03
Ags lose 58-53 in a very disappointing fashion. They led by 9 and had possession with 6:42 to go in the game and then got out-scored 16 to 0 over the next 6:39 seconds. Turnovers are plaguing this team just like last year's team. They had 21 TO's tonight.

Richmond 21 Sac 17 at the half.

Sac dodges a bullet when a fumble scoop and score gets overturned by the replay that would have made it 28-10 Richmond.

  • MBB: Pacific (2-5) at UC Davis (6-2) Thu. Dec.1, 6 pm
But there were times when the house was dead silenagalum

I think the "dead silence" is even more unnerving than shooting FT's than a noisy crowd.
  • MBB: Pacific (2-5) at UC Davis (6-2) Thu. Dec.1, 6 pm
The Aggies were #344 in the country in FT percentage coming into tonight's game. I'm sure it didn't improve after going 16-30 tonight.
  • MBB: Pacific (2-5) at UC Davis (6-2) Thu. Dec.1, 6 pm
We just got home from the game. Man, these last few games have been frustrating to watch. We've been in 3 straight games where we have squandered big leads and missed a ton of FT's. We were 16-30 tonight and a bunch of those were the front end of one-and-one's. 8-26 three point shooting didn't help either.

We looked great at in the first 10 minutes of the game. The defense was stifling and the ball movement was good on offense and we built an 12 point lead. Things went downhill from there. I thought Pacific was the aggressor in the second half especially on defense. They made things tough for us and battled on the boards. We had too many defensive breakdowns and critical TO's at critical moments.

Les was very displeased, to say the least, with the team in his post-game comments. He said the players lost their toughness when a few shots didn't fall and got away from playing as a team and started playing "me, me, me" basketball. They got away from the "scheme" on both ends of the floor. The ball movement went away and they began taking rushed, poor shots. He commented on the atrocious FT shooting and he said the players shot a ton of FT's in practice and everyone was making them. Then they get into the game and can't make FT's. He said it's a lack of "mental toughnes and it's ridiculous." I think there's going to be some tough practices before the next game.

35-32 the Ags lead at the half on Peppe’s NBA range 3 at the buzzer. The abysmal FT shooting continues: 7-14.
  • MBB: Pacific (2-5) at UC Davis (6-2) Thu. Dec.1, 6 pm
Less than two hours until tipoff. Pacific will come into the game hungry after losing 4 straight on their own home court. The Aggies have had trouble holding onto big leads in their last 2 games so it will be interesting to see if the Ags can put together a solid, full 40 minutes of basketball. Go Ags!
