How is it that the ref can hold up play until there's only 4 seconds left to snap the ball while NAU is still getting players on the field?
  • 2023 Week 9: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
    We're being out-coached...
  • 2023 Week 9: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
...and now we see who made the better halftime adjustments...predictable play calling by the Ags and adjustments made by NAU leading to a quick TD...
  • 2023 Week 9: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
We seem to see that but the coaching staff doesn't.

How'd you like that creative call up the gut again?
  • 2023 Week 9: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
No kidding...these TO's because we can't get the right people on the field is unacceptable!
  • 2023 Week 9: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
Is this on the coaches not being on the same page so they can't get the right players on the field?

    Defense played lights out,CA Forever

...and they've done it with Tattersall and Connors both going out with injuries.

We haven't been good at making halftime adjustments that were very effective this year.

The Ags have 275 yards to NAU's 80 and we still trail by 4 points. How frustrating that has to be for the team. They need to come out with a chip on they're shoulders in the second half.

I don't see that happening with an anemic offense that's prone to turnovers. We're certainly still in the game but I don't see us winning by two scores. I hope you're right though!

I keep thinking that these offensive mistakes will end but they just keep on happening...
  • 2023 Week 9: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
We saw this early against EWU also...
  • 2023 Week 9: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
It looks like Tattersall and Connors left the game with injuries. Huge loses for the defense.

    ...and the offensive woes continue...
  • 2023 Week 9: UC Davis @ Northern Arizona
I think the Ags are a slight underdog going into this game. Although NAU is only 2-5 on the season, they only lost to Sac on the road by a single point, 31-20, and they beat Weber by 17 in Ogden, 27-10, whereas we escaped with a one point win over the Wildcats. So NAU has shown that they can be very good and they have the home field advantage too.

On the other hand, I feel like the Aggies are still trying to figure out how to play well on both sides of the ball in a complete game. The defense has shown they can be outstanding but then they have had games where they struggled to stop teams on third and long and our special teams have been very inconsistent. Inconsistency and turnovers have hurt us on offense as well and the injuries we've had at RB have really complicated matters. Consequently, the offense has often looked one dimensional without the explosive rushing attack earlier in the season.

It will be good to have Larison back today but you have to wonder how things will go for him after the long layoff to rehab his injured knee. Hopefully, the bye week will have allowed Tompkins to heal up more as well. I keep thinking that the offense has yet to break out. Maybe today will be the day but it's going to be tough especially if the NAU team that took Sac to the limit shows up in the dome in Flagstaff.

A playoff opportunity is riding on today's game and the next two leading up to the Causeway Classic with Sac. I think today is a must win in order to keep our playoff chances alive.

    Go Ags!

The Aggies secured the #2 seed in the Big West Tournament with a 1-0 win over Irvine on the road last night. The Ags are now 6-2-2 in the BW and 10-6-2 overall which is their best record ever in the D1 era.

Irvine, Calif. — A Sam Tristan goal in the 62nd minute lifted UC Davis women's soccer to a 1-0 win on the road Thursday night against UC Irvine, to claim the team's third straight victory, and secure the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Big West Championship.

Winners of five of their last six games, the red-hot Aggies have gotten into form at the perfect time of the year, and with the win, elevate their record to a Division I era best, 10-6-2. The 0.611 win percentage this regular season breaks the longstanding 2011 season, the year in which UC Davis made their first ever Big West postseason appearance.

The Aggies with their surge up to the Big West No. 2 seed, have also just achieved this feat for the second-time in school history, giving head coach Tracy Hamm two consecutive seasons of record-breaking success.

For sure. Anigwe developed a nice 3 ball while he was here.

Coach Les teams are always strong in the backcourt but don't often match up well with teams who have a strong inside presence like Irvine and Santa Barbara. Irvine and SB seem to be able to attract talented bigs every year and Long Beach always has very athletic, interior players. Riverside has been getting 7 footers lately also.

I think we might have the most talented backcourt in the league this year but our interior presence is the big question mark. I hope Borra shows good improvement over last year and we'll have to wait and see what kind of contribution Jac Mani brings.
