UCD's schedule so far has been a lot of teams with Massey rankings currently in the 30+ range (including Mercer), which is a borderline awful schedule by Big Sky standards.

No one Davis played is lower rated than San Diego. And then there is Western Oregon.

Two of the guys in the top 10 are reserve DBs, who will see more playing time if Rex is out. Batson may be making tackles at near the Rex rate per play, assuming he plays about a third as much. (just a guess). Stanley may also play some safety, with Allen playing nickel.

We haven’t had many play as true freshmen at a level where they project to FBS starters. Freshmen don’t have the investment of time in the degree that makes transferring less attractive.
What is behind the worry about Porter Connors? I didn’t see him injured on the field, and he played relatively late in the game.

The second uses customized home and away values.Maybe Cal Poly has outperformed at home, and Davis underperformed on road explains part of it. Davis didn’t cover the huge point spread at Utah Tech and got blown out at Washington so appears a weak road team.
Third method is a mystery.

Gripes about the broadcast.
1) don’t want to hear again that the Aggies have all five offensive lineman back, when one of them has yet to play due to last seasons injury. Statement is true but misleading. We are starting a red shirt frosh who only appeared in a few games last year.
2) when Davis was running with tempo,the broadcast decides it’s a good idea to show replays. Lots of luck with that.

After more than half a century of campaigns to Keep Tahoe Blue, they are going to advertise they failed and it is now Aqua. Green algae has its place, but not in Tahoe. Maybe they should have used the Aqua uniforms to celebrate the Bodega Marine Lab.

I noticed Sagarin has three algorithms to predict results, and they all had large spreads but the biggest was an experimental method with individualized home and away values. I take it Weber isn’t a good road team.

I watched the first half of the Weber McNeese game
And McNeese had one 68 yard running play but otherwise couldn’t run. Near the end of the half McNeese only had 71 yards total 68 on one play. Weber may be better on run defense than the statistics of that game show.

There is no evidence that Sac State lacks quality coaching. Their coaches have impressive background. While some of the players have questionable backgrounds, most do not. They have depth so bad apples can be bypassed. The only way i see them self destructing is if some of them are thinking about their next gig, in November.

Fitzgerald has opinions about things he doesn’t understand and is proud of it, e..g. The Mercer game no decision circumstances and the crowd here boosted by students that didn’t stay until he looked around in the third quarter.
He is also.defensive about his education, otherwise why mention N Cal people as being educated. Everyone is educated these days, some people just didn’t learn anything.

Out of conference big sky stats are near meaningless because some teams are playing Lincoln while other play Oregon
In the two games against FCS competition, McNeese and Butler Weber gave up 7.8 yards per carry and 5.0 yards per carry respectively. I think Plough will try to be balanced. McNeese was and scored 41 points.
