• 2024 Football Recruiting

I really don’t know regarding who will stick around with remaining eligibility. I only heard we have 12 to hand out. And that was over the grapevine and not directly from athletics.

I think we have 12 fulls to offer. I know they split some up to get more bang for the buck.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY

Thanks for the correction. Not sure how i screwed that up, lol.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
Bennett, being a freshman, is going to be a force to deal with. He reminds me of Barriere. In fact he might be a faster scrambler than Barriere. He throws a real nice ball on the run and has a quick release. He should seriously consider pulling a Ken O’Brien and go to a school with a known history of developing top QBs, wink.

Edit, he’s not a freshman. My mistake.
  • 2023-24 FCS Playoffs

We beat Weber, but just barely. Do you mean NAU? Against EWU, that darn blocked easy FG put the nail in the coffin.
  • Looking Ahead to the 2024 Football Season Discussion

“ I head through the grapevine that offensive play calling rights were taken away from the OC towards the end of the season (not sure for all plays or just situational).”

So who was making the calls?
Regarding QBs, Hawkins has repeatedly commented that Hastings has a high football IQ and was skilled at reading the defense and calling an audible based on what he saw. Maybe that influenced him to stick with Miles? I had been hoping that Harper would get some minutes, but then i heard he was hurt in practice. But he was dressed yesterday. Moving forward we need a healthy competition for the helm and in the end a stud that can throw and scramble.

I was also totally amazed that Sac went with Conklin. And Conklin took a huge hit and sack which was his last play. I believe it was after that when Bennett came in. Bennett had tremendous scrambling speed and was a decent passer.
I’ve also been a Hastings critic. But I was really happy for him to have a solid game. I’ll be anxious to see what happens during the QB competition next spring. In the mean time, let’s hope the fellas get into the playoffs. Go Ags!

Already 14-0 Vandals. It looks like its going to be a long day for Cody.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
What are the chances we get SLAC in the first round. I remember a year that they beat us twice, once during the regular season and then again in the playoffs. At least that can’t happen, but might we get them in the playoffs?
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
Happy for Hastings. Wasn’t convinced he could beat Sac.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY

Agreed, we can’t survive 4 TOs. Aside from today’s rain, the wind is going to be blowing pretty good.
    Go Ags!
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY
Especially in the rain, I just don’t see a non-mobile QB winning this. The defense might have to do the heavy lifting.
  • 2023 Big Sky Scores (Season Thread)
Both teams can run and pass. Does the rain forecast favor one team over the other. I’m thinking SLAC’s mobile QB might give them an edge in rainy conditions.
  • MBB: North Dakota State (2-1) vs the Aggies (2-1) 1 pm Tuesday 11/14

For some reason, occasionally i don’t see ag games on the espn guide. If i do a search for ncaa football or bball, it will show up. I haven’t looked for todays game yet.
  • Come Back Coach Hawk
This might be a naive question, but how much decision making occurs by the HC during a game? There’s an OC, DC, special teams, etc. Are the coordinators calling the shots? Watching Troy Taylor, it was clear to me that he was calling the offense side. You could see him studying his play book during the game and I assume planning plays. I don’t see Hawk doing that, although maybe he’s got the playbook in his head. It seems that Hawk’s decision making is on his hires and then is directing traffic during the game? Is he influencing game plays?
  • MBB: Aggies (2-0) @ Montana (1-1) 6 pm Sunday 11/12
No Bora again. We’re really limited on our big guys.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY

I remember your post about this. I must admit I’ve seen some Aggie fans do some idiotic things.
We pay extra to sit in the team aggie section, which has nicer seats and a fun Aggie crowd. Up until this year, there were docents checking tickets in our section at the entry. It kept opposing fans out. This year they are not checking tickets, which means we end up in an open seating area if season ticket holders don’t show. On causeway game days, we will end up with a bunch of opposing fans in our section. If they’re going to get those seats, they should be paying the team aggie fees like the rest of us.
  • 2023 Week 11: UC Davis @ Idaho State
Did Winston Williams get any game time? I was looking forward to seeing his efforts. He looks like a baller.
