Honestly, this season was a success for both schools. Neither were supposed to do much of anything and both were exciting to watch. I think the future finally looks bright for college football in the Sac metro area.Phantom Hornet

Well said, I can agree with you on that :).

The new staff has got a lot of credit, maybe too much. But the new staff definitely restored our passing game, and I think that is the only way we can have success at this time.Riveraggie

And they have brought back some of the excitement of attending games. The entire game day experience is vastly improved this year. Now we just need to get the Aggie Pack back.

On that subject, we were tailgating near the spot that the band and cheerleaders were warming up. One of the cheerleaders came over, introduced himself to us, and we had a very pleasant conversation. He is an exemplary young man. I asked him about the Aggie Pack and game marketing on campus. He told me "they" do not hold pep rallies or any other organized platform to excite the students about the games. This needs to change.

Classic Causeway. Sac State shows it is superior most of the game.....the Mattos MarchPhantom Hornet

I would say Sac was superior in the first half, UC Davis showed it was superior in the second half. Sac just held on. Did you see the stats?
Mattos, well, not highly regarded around the league. I'll leave it at that.

SUU was without their star qb for that game. We would have hammered them also in that situation.

It must have been 4th quarter. Not so sure i want to suffer through that game again if its replayed.

Two big game changers. The terrible ball handling by special teams inside the 10 which resulted in a fumble, and, some really bad calls, spots, and non calls. We were right on the 38 yardline and watched our RB pass the line by a good yard on fourth down, only to have the ball spotted a yard short. Then that long pass along the east sidelines with the hornet literally hooking the receivers arm for a good 5 yards as the ball was arriving. Just a few bad calls (or non calls) like that influences the final score. If we lost by a few TDs, i wouldn't be whining about refs.

Well, suc has to win once in 7 or 8 years or it wouldn't be a rival.

Special teams and giving up big plays. Come on hawk!

    How about throwing to Doss?

Lot 7, tickets at Slack $25?
I bought mine today. What a rip off for general admission. We need to return the favor next year.
I think we are going to shoot for lot 10, less congested. We did 7 two years ago. You need to get there real early to secure a site.

got to be proud of him with the challenges he has endured. He’s healthy now. If he plays another season for us and gets hurt, that could affect him in the draft. Get your autographs now,

I think that was another game. Agalum might remember better. My two sons, an ag and a hornet, and spouses were in our box that day. Sunny day. Pretty sure that was 2012. Monsoon wax 2010

I think we were up by two possessions when the sac kicker blundered. Regardless, the rain worked to our advantage in that game. I was totally soaked in spite of decent rain gear.

Is it slated to rain in Sac on Saturday?

    Negative

Even with their improvement this year, I think their overall program has knocked the wind out of their sails over there. There boards are very quiet.

Ha ha, i already answered that question in second post :).

Gould could have easily had a couple of 5-6 or 6-5 seasons had he not insisted on playing predictable 3-n-out football game after game year after year. The Big Easy

And the run up the middle time after time. We had a touch of that illness against NAU. The run game in that game just didnt work, but the pass worked. They finally figured it out late in the game. We do need to be able to run the ball, but if it's not working, go to your bread and butter. Plough even admitted in an interview that they waited too long to go to the pass. I was screaming at my TV for them to pass, lol.

What did the J Street Tech grad say to the UC Davis grad?

Welcome to McDonalds, can I take your order?

What does the average J Street Tech applicant get on his SAT?

    Drool.

Ive seen a lot of causeway games through the years. There were many in which Suc had the better team. It appears they should be the favored team this year. But for what ever reason, they have a tendency to self destruct against the Ags. One issue that worries me is that we give up big plays, and they are making them. I think we need to deflate them early, jump ahead, and get them out of their game plan. “Sac state sucks!”
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
Heck, fork out the bread for a pizza party before game time. How about a tent, like the team aggie tent, for students in the tailgate area.

Is there any marketing to students other than signs on campus?

I have an undergrad intern who was a nose tackle in HS. He doesnt go to any of the games for two reasons. One, the team was not very good ( but he heard theynwere improving), and two, he said there is essentially zero marketing on campus. From what i see, the marketing is geared towards FB and tweets. They need to overwhelm the students with old fashioned posters, pep rallies, and freebees. Make it exciting.
