Ouch. He hasn't dropped his commitment yet, but it looks like there is instantaneously a ton of pressure on him to go SDSU.

Yes. As of last night probably over a dozen people... enticing to play for your hometown team, but he could easily be buried on the bench, always a new recruit.

Yeah, we might lose that one.

And he is retweeting those comments.

TBH, with Hawkins & Co. and our offensive passing game on fire and loads of talented WRs QBs should / are dying to come here.

I agree with you movie. With Hawkins' current game plan, Davis should be a QB paradise. I just have a sinking feeling we might see Baker flip on this one. By going to SDSU he has a chance to play at home and for an FBS team that is showing signs of life.

If I remember correctly though, Baker was our first commit. So hopefully he actually really likes Davis and what Hawkins is doing with the program. Fingers crossed we can hang onto this kid though because I think he is seriously underrated and could be a steal.

Agreed. I looked over some of his HS highlights. Real impressive kid, great arm, good size, and he has some motors.

New offer out to CB / WR / ATH Davon Frazier of Elk Grove. He was listed at 5'11" last year, a new listing says 6'1", 185 pounds. Via Twitter, his first offer.

He converted to RB for at least one game, and had runs of 62 and 67 yards, with 2 TDs. Another article claims 6 INTs on the year.

New offer out on DT Josiah Suani. This last season had 79 total tackles including 32 for losses and 14 sacks. For being 300+ pounds he is very quick off the line in his highlights.

gotta love this misprint (i hope):

    Pungent Sound? those guys stink!

That's as funny as the time the Borat national anthem was played at the medal ceremony for a shooting competition in Kuwait (2012). Itt's probably pungent due to inferior potassium.

Aaaaaaaaaand Carson Baker signed a national letter of intent with SDSU... that sucks.

And I don't think Coach Plough is happy about it

    This sh*t happens a lot.

Puzzling to go from committing to Davis where you'll throw the ball all over the field 40+ times per game and 3,500 yards, to committing to a place that wont let you achieve better than average QB status - around 18 attempts per game and 1,800 yards.....playing second fiddle to the next Rashaad Penny.
Like Olave tweeted (he was pissed too) "....hand it off your whole career."

These kids want to play at "Big Time" programs. In the end that just doesn't matter if you are QB 2 or 3.
Can't fault the kid for jumping on his chance to go to what was probably his dream school.

Oh I absolutely don't blame Baker. These athletes have to go where they think they will be the happiest and have the best chance for success. I agree that I don't necessarily understand the logic though of choosing a school that favors the run over the pass if you are a QB looking to make it at the next level. Oh well, congrats to SDSU on getting a stud.

That being said, the world of football recruiting needs to come up with a better word than committed/commitment for athletes who declare before the sign their LOI. At least in my mind the word commitment carries a lot of weight, whereas it carries little to no weight in this area.

Is Da'von Frazier a new signee? Congrats!

With all due respect, Coach Plough was off the mark on 2 tweets. We have a 46% acceptance rate, not 6%. And rambling on twitter to an 18 year old doesn't sound like humility or integrity. Speckman or Hawk should talk to him, if he was my DR they would have been down an hour ago. No whining or lecturing.

Congratulations to Baker for signing with his hometown team... though he should remove his pinned tweet / commit to the Aggies.

CAForever - that's why we use verbal!

Gunnertime!!?? Kid can scoot, over 600 yards rushing!

I totally understand Plough's frustration though. Baker has been committed for a long time and then just bam tossed us to the curb in a matter of days. We can use the word verbal but most of these kids just use the word commitment. I just think there has to be a better word because when I am committed to something I am 100% dedicated to following through on whatever it was.
