• Aggie Pride: A UC Davis Football Podcast
Lot’s of fans are very proud at how he’s handled adversary yet had a tremendous game Saturday. Please let him know we’re proud of him!

“ There is no way there were 6000 less there Saturday compared to Utah Tech. East side was similarly full, grass similar, west side had more pockets of empty. But 6000? My guess would have been around 11000 and that the 14832 was a generous upcount with the orientation kids. So a pretty good crowd, not great.”

Absolutely. I was scratching my head when i saw the numbers reported for Idaho. I’ll ask Wednesday at the lunch with coach.

Not long ago we were losing the close games. We’re getting them this year. Exciting game. Vandal fans were louder than the Aggie Pack. That needs to change.
  • 2024 Big Sky Scores
I was really impressed with NAU’s pass rush. Their D created the opportunities for their offense.

My son and grandson will be there with me in the tent. Big day in Davis, Go Ags!
  • Sac State to get a New Stadium

Remember when we were paid a boat load of money when USC decided not to play us after we had a contract? It was the USC alumni that did not want to play a FCS school. So those external customers so to speak, the USC alumni, were heard by their athletic department which cost them about 1 M. So no, were not external customers. There’s tons of examples of collaborations between UC Davis and your so called external customers (alumni). I’ve sat on a few advisory boards as an alum. These boards provide leadership and advice regarding a variety of topics. I just don’t follow your logic.

“Third-year Idaho coach Jason Eck says UC Davis running back Lan Larison is "the best offensive player in the conference," though he notes it hurts to see an Idaho native (Larison is from Caldwell) playing against the Vandals.”

Eck might be forgetting that he has 10 players from CA, lol.

This just looks like its going to be a defensive kind of game on both sides. Somebody said the first team to reach 21 will win. That sounds about right to me. They have a young red shirt freshman qb, unless their starter is back. I think we can rattle him. He has a real good long ball, but misses a lot of open receivers. His long ball receiver has speed.
  • Sac State to get a New Stadium

Plough has said it would be 50M to move up. I’m not sure if that is for the stadium or inclusive of all the costs necessary, such as stadium and scholarships?
  • Sac State to get a New Stadium
Well, if they really do have that kind of cash secured already, it would appear they are way ahead of us, especially if they are going to start renovations at the end of this season. Maybe next year they will have to rent Aggie Stadium for their home games, lol.
  • Football crowd participation ideas

“ Find one undergrad, JUST ONE, that knows football and is passionate about it. That's the student section MC. ”

This is the formula. So many students come in with zero football knowledge. They need to be coached on when to be loud and when to be quiet.

    True Blue
“ I'd like to hear the PA's mic turned up when we get a 1st down, and have their voice roll out like thunder, "And that's ANOTHER..." and the crowd responds "FIRST DOWN AGGIES!" Accompanied by the scoreboard projecting the wording of the response to prompt the crowd.”

EWU does this exact announcement. When i was there several years ago the aggie fans were actually annoyed by it. They were making us uncomfortable. That’s what Plough wants - make the opposing team uncomfortable.

“ Now, I haven't been to a live game in awhile as I live across the country, but family who has been going to Aggie games for decades said that they found the star wars thing on 3rd downs "weird and annoying".”

Absolutely agree. Once in a while might be ok but it definitely is annoying multiple times during a game.
  • Pac-12 set to add Boise, 3 other MW schools
This is an interesting read on transitioning from fcs to fbs:
    https://www.texasfootball.com/article/2023/10/31/the-ncaa-announced-new-fbs-requirements-here-are-the-biggest-hurdles-for-fcs-programs

“ Four weeks ago, the NCAA Division I council changed the membership requirements for Football Bowl Subdivision schools. Two changes went into effect immediately and garnered most headlines surrounding the new requirements.

The council eliminated attendance requirements at FBS schools. This change is effective immediately and relieves schools from needing to average at least 15,000 in actual or paid attendance at home football games over a rolling two-year period. This change provided a relief to some schools currently in FBS.

The next change to receive most of the headlines was increasing the application fee to transition from FCS to FBS from $5,000 to $5 million, effective immediately. Many fans and some pundits wondered aloud whether the fee increase would affect schools wishing to move up.”
  • 2024 Week 4: Utah Tech (0-3) @ UC Davis (2-1)

Its like the administration castrated the band-uh. They are definitely not the banduh that we all loved back in the day.
  • 2024 Week 4: Utah Tech (0-3) @ UC Davis (2-1)
Did other team aggie pass holders get scanned going into the stadium? I didn’t. They just waved me through. That could be an extra 200 that didn’t get counted.

I really like Fisher’s speed, especially when he accelerates through the hole. Maybe he’s not getting more touches bc Perez is a senior? Regarding LL, i was surprised to see his final yard tally. It seemed like they were stopping him, but i guess if its after 5or 6 yards that racks up.
Miles had a good game. He scrambled more in this game and made some really nice throws, without any picks. That’s improvement.
