Yeah, that's true, but I also just wish that with such a peak on the defensive side of the ball, the offense could've put out a bit more to make the team more complete. Felt like we could've really had something, but it just wasn't figured out in time...and Larison going down proved to be such a huge loss that it anchored the output.

Looks like a reasonable list to me

Going out on good terms, despite the playoff miss is a good feeling. The program is 100% healthier since Hawk showed up. Facilities have been upgraded, we've learned how to compete in the Big Sky - now we just need a few horses to help get this team over the hump. Starts with the bloody quarterback of course.

As of right now though, it feels like a little bit of a rebuild is due in 2024, save for some golden transfers.

All the stars on defense are notably leaving - it would've been nice to see some more offensive output this season, maybe win another 1 or 2 games, had a better run at it...honestly, I'd want to take off too with Hawk gone, and the offensive prospects floundering at improvement unless LL comes back.

Heck, some have given as much as $50 to this dinky little Forum! FYI, the 2024 drive will commence in a couple of weeks. Whenever I can break free from these Heavy Civil Construction chains for an hour, I'll set it up.

I don't even think about Gould anymore. It was such a low point for Aggie Football.

"Recruiting is like any other sales business. We've got to win to keep our jobs. We gotta fill the arena to keep our jobs. And if we don't, they fire us. I mean, that's just, that's, hey, bankers don't make money they fire them." - Kevin O'Neill, collegiate head basketball coach (1989-2013) Marquette, Tennessee, Northwestern, USC

Dan leaves the program with a pretty good team, and a returning QB - who should be put in a competition in my opinion - and possibly star RB in Larison if he closes out his college career in Davis. Some other strong players on both sides of the ball. Could be worse in a HC transition year.

Sounds to me like he wants to get out of California, head back up to Idaho and just be with family near Pocatello. Maybe down the line Cody and Dan would try to reunite at Boise State. It's been a year without Cody nearby, so doesn't surprise me his priorities are to be near the grandkids.

I know Plough is a familiar choice, but curious if there shouldn't be a more widespread search conducted in December before the contract is negotiated.

Shouldn't be unexpected for the recruiting/coaching staff. What was a strength in 2022 and 2023 could still be a strength in 2024, but they'll need to reload with a few transfer guys. They'll definitely have a spot to play in Davis.
  • Lan Larison named Big Sky offensive player of the year
Was going to say, from a balance perspective, he's got the best balance as a ball carrier I've seen since Marshawn Lynch at Cal.
  • 2023-24 FCS Playoffs
Is the committee member comparing the current state of Stanford football (very low) to the current state of Oregon State football (peaking)?
  • 2023-24 FCS Playoffs
Sucks not getting the playoff chance, but it was a very competitive season across the Nation - and Davis was inconsistent of course early in the season, and had a hiccup losing #3 in the middle of the season, which eventually cost the Aggies two big games against EWU and NAU...but, I for one am stoked that Davis beat Sac - not only beat them, but beat them soundly. Conspiracy theorists may say Sac sat this QB or that QB, and didn't play starters as much and it wasn't a full effort - baloney, unless Sac is operating under very specific inside information that they were in as long as they didn't get blown out, I think Sac came to play and just got beat. You know, you take away that win at Stanford, Sac's resume is not that good...some competitive games @ Idaho and vs. Montana State, both losses, barely beating Northern Colorado, getting crushed by Montana, letting Cal Poly hang - then getting whooped by Davis, it makes you wonder what the committee saw that was so impressive with the Hornets - especially in losing a head-to-head with the Aggies.
  • 2023 WEEK 12: CAUSEWAY

Larison 175 total yards from scrimmage and 4 TDs vs. Sacramento State, Munoz finished 21/27 for 329 passing yards with 4 TDs and ran for a Touchdown as well @ Cal Poly.

I think it's simply a case of Larison winning it last week, and they want new blood to win it this week. You ask me the more impactful performance against a much stronger opponent...it's Larison's performance, hands down.
