No love for the Zags?

PSU shredded Oregon state. This is a true test for our defense. Fingers crossed they are up for it.

It's never the kids fault - just a shame that they were previously able to do so much (evidently on a shoe-string and directed mostly by themselves) compared to now. Also, I hope it was related to school not being in session, but my wife and I noticed that the Band-uh was really small at the USD game.

I know there is only so much money to go around, but it would sure be great to get the Band-uh traveling with the team. In my non-scholarship playing days when there was far less money to go around, the Band-uh traveled everywhere and they were crazy - taking the bus for 30+ hours. One of my fondest memories was standing in the end-zone in Missoula feeling a little intimidated until he Band-uh unexpectedly came marching down the tunnel to join us on the field. I know the Band-uh is under new management now with mixed results, but it sure was a nice boost to the team and we felt a real bond with the Band-uh back then. Would be nice if we could figure out how to get there again.

No option for us but the big sky; great fit (for now to quote Hawkins). I am not afraid of competition, and am sure Hawkins and the guys aren't either. Just slowly realized last night that this will be a serious stretch of games.

@movielover this is division I football! You are right - I think these guys are better suited for this test than under the previous management. But it will be quite a test (and I conveniently forgot to mention EWU).

Not to look ahead, gents, but I'm watching a replay of Weber State going toe-to-toe with Cal on the PAC-12 network. And we have North Dakota after that. Holy moly! This three week stretch is sure will be a test, but I bet Hawk and the players welcome the chance to prove themselves.

It will be critical to improve our running game this week. PSU will not be giving up a lot of long passes. We'll need to rely heavily on short passes and chip away. I think the big plays will be few and far between.

They were playing this on the big screen after the game. My family was dragging me out and I was pleading to stay. It's great production quality and the content gives you goosebumps.

Next week is no joke. Portland state is good all over the field, and particularly in the secondary. We'll need to improve this running game for sure.

Result is great so far and there are a lot of things they can improve on. Could be really good.
