These are awesome changes from what I see in the pictures. New video board is great, I like the new wraps on the buildings. Much needed facelift for aggie stadium.
i noticed at the last scrimmage that the old 'Aggie Pride' donor board was down. i wonder if they are putting up a new one. that one dates back about 7 years, and i know we had some new significant donors added to the list this year.
Also our new video board is the biggest in the Big Sky Conference. Those in the area who are going to the game will have to post about the quality of it. Unfortunately I live on the East Coast now and will be watching the game online.
I'll be there and will report back. Fingers crossed all the glitches have been corrected by now. When do students report to the dorms? Any idea if we will have decent student support?
A Buckhorn tri tip sandwich and a Sudwerk beer is awesome! We're in for a treat if the Buckhorn keeps their traditional high standard of food service at the football games. Blue is ticking all the right boxes!
instruction begins September 27, so move-in weekend is the 23rd. don't expect a large showing of students out there. I'll be there, with a full box, so we're doing our part to fill the west side. Football alum game, free-tickets to ex-players, so that should draw some more. staff appreciation and kids day. i'm expecting a better than average (compared to recent years) attendence, especially if the weather cooperates.
Thanks @DrMike. I had forgotten just how late the students arrive in the quarter system. Was a quiet time in Davis between reporting to camp and classes beginning.
These are terrific improvements. Other than the scoreboard I don't imagine these cost a ton of money - just implementation of good ideas by a group that has experience at the higher level of collegiate athletics. All signs point to us moving in the right direction. Now we just have to get our football team to learn how to win. Saturday will be a test, but hopefully it's the beginning of our turning the corner.
looks good. i like the blue signage around the field. softens the gray concrete. scoreboard looks great. really looking forward to seeing it in person tomorrow.
The Aggies will unveil their mammoth new scoreboard on Saturday. The 1,400-square-foot Daktronics screen will be a game-changer, Deputy Athletic Director Rocko DeLuca promises.
An investment of just over $500,000 comes from UCD’s Aggie Stadium capital improvements budget and the south-end wonder will continue to be named in honor of original scoreboard donors Dorothy and Melvin J. Olsen.
“We had some help from our partners with purchasing on campus,” explains DeLuca, who said the project was first discussed in January and got underway this summer. “It was a pretty tight window.”
I am so envious of those who are attending but at my age and physical limitations, I can no longer attend. I am, however, an Aggie forever. I would appreciate someone taking pictures of the stadium full with patrons and the new Aggie home uniforms. Go Ags!!!
