    and BlueGoldAg
Agree 100% and I join BlueGoldAg in substantial sarcasm when I also say, "shocking!".

Man... CSUN has been a qualified mess for years. The Theus years were a joke. I mean . . . I like Reggie . . . I enjoyed watching him when he played for the Kings, coached the Kings, etc... but as a college coach at CSUN, he was a jackass. Regularly and brutally belittling his players (one of whom was his own kid). And I'm not talking about about the "normal" yelling and barking that coaches do. It was personal. And it was extremely mean-spirited. Theus getting in to a fist fight with the AD in 2018 was just the height of jackassery on both their parts. And a HUGE embarrassment for CSUN. Both of them getting fired within hours was the best thing CSUN could have done.

And then . . . they bring on Gottfried, along with all his seriously questionable baggage?????? CSUN MBB needs to figure out who they are and what they are going to stand for. Right now . . . the optics look awful.

Agreed, it's hard to tell. My instinct, however, is that this is a reflection of some new norms in college basketball in general, as well as specific circumstances. It's speculation, but after a decade or so of following the social media messaging of dozens and dozens of college hoopers, the prevailing opinion of a majority of them is, "if you're not playing as much as you think you should, hit the portal." I don't agree with their perspective, but that's how it reads to me.

Pehka . . . the young man is a lonnnng way from home. Sometimes it's just too much to overcome. Kennedy? I agree that its a grad school thing - he'll probably play his bonus year where he is admitted. I didn't think Kennedy would return anyway, so ... (shrug). Squire? No idea, frankly. He's in a tough spot, with regards to position, available minutes, role, etc. He's a PG and Manjon is not giving up that position for the foreseeable future. He's not a natural #2 and there are folks in the wings that are going to be vying for minutes. He also has other significant interests outside of basketball (particularly, music) and he may be interested in playing in a location that provides more exposure in that regard. Whatever the reasons, I'm sorry to see any Aggies go.
  • New Uniforms
These new ones also bring back numbers on the sleeves, as opposed to the block CA.

I never tire of the navy jerseys, over gold(ish) pants with the shiny gold helmet with the CA decal. That look is perfection.

I second your observation about not seeing what precipitated the tech. Frankly, the officiating last night was atrocious. And the ref that T'd Les up seemed to be having a particularly bad game. IMHO, refs are human . . . so, I'll give them each 1 lame call a game - or, basically, 3 bad calls by the crew. But the crew last night had 7 by my count. That kind of performance really impacts a game, and that is just inexcusable. And . . . Les' tech amounts to the winning margin in the end. And I am sure that Coach knows it. And is sick to death about it. GO AGS!
  • MBB: UC Santa Barbara (16-8, 5-4) at UCD (10-15, 4-5) 7 pm Thursday, February 13th
This . . . "i thought we thoroughly outcoached them last night." Big facts.
  • 2020 Recruiting List
With how dynamic our offense is (when we are healthy, of course), makes me wonder if there is an "H" back wrinkle we may see next year or the year after. Grassmann fits the mold, imho.
  • Aggie Back Field
I rattled my sources who share that TT is likely finishing his education here. The loss of his father and his injury robbed him of his enthusiasm for football. Don't know exactly what the injury was, but I'm told that it simply made him tentative when he ran and "afraid of contact".

Aside from that . . . Dixon was highly sought after during the previous recruiting cycle. I thought he was going to be an Aggie, for sure. Good kid, solid character, impressive academics - all the right ingredients for an Aggie. Opting for Fresno State was, in my humble opinion, a little surprising given all those items mentioned. Nevertheless, glad he will be here. I think the dude brings a LOT to the table for the RB corp.

  • Gunrock Pub popular, active, or not?
In '91 and '92, The Pub (at the Silo) was the place to be on Fridays from noon until around 4/4:30; especially during Spring Qtr. Then stagger home . . . grab power nap . . . quick shower then head to B's for happy hour and beyond . . . then finish off the night at The Paragon singing (poorly) along to Gary Lee Yoder and Friends.

Man I miss those days. Good times.

Rogers Printup is wearing a cast on his wrist and forearm (seen on social media posts). It's only September so I assume its early enough that it won't impact his senior season. But . . . hate to see anything that derails his preparation. Wishing you a speedy and complete recovery, Rogers!
  • Mahalia White returns
So great to read this. Can I get a big "AGGIE PRIDE" for Mahalia from the congregation?
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
This is a shame, "The group referred to as the “Band-Uh” will no longer exist."

Minus the alleged misconduct and the associated bad press, I hate losing something that is a very real part of the fabric of our campus - and one of the "old" things that today's undergraduate likes as well. Many alumni that I have met over the years often speak reverently about the Band-Uh. Essentially, when we compare notes . . . and experiences with UC Davis . . . the love of the Band-Uh was a relative constant. Some people lived in the domes (I didn't), some people didn't go greek (I did), some drove for Unitrans or worked at the Coffee House (not me), . . . but we all love the Band-Uh. They are Aggies. Today they might play the cymbals with a goofy hat; but tomorrow they may be your orthopedic surgeon - and that's life as an Aggie. I just hate to see some of our old and valued campus elements dissolve.
  • The Fate of the Grad
 True. "ample parking" was generous. So, there's parking , and we'll leave it at that. "Ample" . . . LOL!!
  • The Fate of the Grad
Wonder if they considered relocating to the Whole Foods location at The Commons. Big space . . . has kitchen facilities . . . ample parking . . . easy draw for the dance/party crowd since its downtown . . .

Just spitballin', but seems like an ideal fit.
