Athletics never made our university “elite” or for that matter any other one. It’s totally supplementary. If by your metric Sac State is now “elite” then you should reassess your methodology.

I am used to loyalty to those that have stuck with us. I am not used to constant turnover. If someone new has success here, they will more likely leave ala Sac State. Look, if we can become a Duke or Bama (of old) sure, let’s do it. But if we become a Umass or a Kent State then no.

If anyone is impressed with Sac State then go on their board and praise them. I in no way want to do what they are doing. I think our coaches should be lauded for their longevity and perseverance through budget cuts, covid, changing NIL landscape, etc. The Sac State way is not the Aggie Way and I hope it never is.

I really don’t like what Sac St is doing. Feels very much like a Potemkin Village.

I get it that they are getting a lot of clicks on the merit of past stars…but who does it this way? This is not sustainable.

They have no culture, they have no pride, I don’t even want them as a rival.

I for one do not agree with any moves Sac State is doing. To me it seems like it’s all marketing and no substance.

Mike Bibby was an excellent point guard for the Kings. That’s doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be a great coach. If only we can get our hands on another ex Kings point guard with proven ability to be a head coach.

Also, just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t make them “upset”. I respectfully think showing Les the door would be a huge mistake. I mean do the “big schools” not have turnover? I’d argue that because of NIL that it’s the norm now. Disruption isn’t always a good thing.

Then go follow Sac State. In the 20 plus years I have been affiliated with the school Coach Les has brought character and stability to our program. UC Davis is not a Potemkin Village like Sac State.

I love Coach Les and we should not even bring up firing him. The guy brings stability, character, and grit to our program. We need to see the value in what we have. The guy has never brought reproach on the school or team.

The classic logos are phenomenal in my opinion.

I hate the double font logo. I wish we could stop using it.
