I thought I'd start a topic where soccer fans can post about the 2026 World Cup games. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and the World Cup is the pinnacle of the sport. The passion and pageantry of soccer fans around the world is like none other in all of sports.

Mexico beat South Africa 2-0 today in the first game of the tournament. 87,500 fans were in attendance at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City in a game that saw 3 red card ejections: 2 from South Africa and one from Mexico.

Next up is South Korea vs Czechia at Guadalajara Stadium in Mexico at 7 pm PT.

Here is a link to the TV schedule for the games:

What an incredible moment for soccer fans today as Lionel Messi scores 3 goals for Argentina in their 3-0 win over Algeria. Messi tied the all-time, World Cup scoring record with his 16 goals in World Cup play. His ability to score with either foot with precision accuracy is a thing of legendary beauty. He's 39 years old now so enjoy him while you can. He just may be the greatest player the game has ever seen.

    Other games today:

Kevin Blue is the Chief Executive Officer and General Secretary of Canada Soccer, the governing body that oversees both the men's and women's national soccer teams.

What an impressive drubbing 6-0 of Qatar by team Canada. They might make a lot of noise in the knockout rounds.

It will probably be over if your haircut takes an hour! I'd say record it, then stay away from any news media so you don't see the final score and then watch it from where you left off when you have time.
