I see Bob Biggs (who never ages) and Tony Franks.

considering we are down 3 of our top 6 players, maybe its as good as we could expect? we have 5 guys with 2 fouls so i expect they will keep pushing inside. we can't afford any cheap fouls.

I'm hoping we see more Omer (assuming his ankle is 100%). He was about the only one on offense with any confidence.

why do we come out with 50 seconds left on offense with Rowlins and Franklin on the floor and Wilson sitting? Mind boggling. I can see sitting WIlson on defense (2 fouls) but offense?

lucked out on the goal-tend after a horrible last possession for the beach....34-31 at the half.

we can't possibly play worse; not sure they can play any better.

nobody looks like they want to take a shot from outside the paint. i don't think ESPN has this in mind when they moved us to the ESPN2 game on Saturday!

this is hard to watch. if the beach were just below-average, we would be down 20 by now.

down 25-17 with 8 to go, and its not looking good. 2-11 from 3, and getting beat up on the boards. recipe for disaster (and 8 seed).

At least the announcers are decent.

thankfully Omer is playing; he's keeping us in the game. didn't recognize Chappell at first with the new do. Sevilla has been battling leg injuries all year. Maybe we are playing it safe since there's not much gain with wins this week.
  • Bakersfield’s controversy

my biggest concern about MW, and this is selfish of me, is game times. I think the 6:00 tipoffs might be a thing of the past - same for Thursday night. MWC seems to play lots of M, Tu 7:00 or 7:30 tipoffs for TV - that’s gonna be a pain coming and going for me. Same with the Saturday matinees - I think those will be night games.

Of course, I might be in the minority of fans who like the current home format.
  • Bakersfield’s controversy
I remember about 3 years ago, i was part of a BigWest 'study' where they had fans/administrators/press sit in a zoom discussion (there were several of these, each with about 15 participants). It was mostly about branding, marketing, what the BigWest brought to the schools, etc. Bako was new to the BigWest and they were just bubbly about joining and what it would do for their 'brand' moving forward. Reality hasn't quite met those expectations.

We are only 1.5 point favorites - I hope that’s not an indication about our health going into tonight. If we are down 3 guys (Cooper, Stokes and Omer), we’re not going to be on a roll heading to Henderson.

the odds sites are really 'interesting'. several seem to have us as something like 53-55% chance of winning, but something called SportsGrid has a model with us as 79% chance of winning by 13!

email said $100+ K raised. Others there can back me that they raised at least $75-80k from the two auctions and the on the spot donations. There were 2-3 sponsors for the event that must have covered a good portion of the location costs.

    Perhaps some good news?
  • Conner brothers eligibility lawsuit

I'm pretty sure it hasn't got to the lawsuit stage yet. It was sitting with the NCAA as of a couple weeks back, and we were awaiting their decision. I'm sure it will be discussed tomorrow at the coach's lunch

well, I did take UCR over CSUN last night!

    No, no I didn’t
  • Big West Updates
    My guesses

    UCSD : W, L. 12-8
    CSUN : W, W 13-7
    UCSB : W 12-8
    CSF : L, L 10-10
Poly L, W. 10-10 (they play hime vs Irvine)
    Us W, L. 11-9

So, I’d predict us at 6, playing either Fullerton or Poly.

For completeness, I think Irvine and Hawaii both win out with Hawaii having the easiest time of it.

    Then it’s tiebreaker city!

before this year, there was no departmental NIL ( I think of it as revenue sharing). That’s the pot of money they are trying to grow; that slon

before this year, there was no departmental NIL ( I think of it as revenue sharing). That’s the pot of money they are trying to grow; that along with setting up a NIL partnership with an apartment group to help with summer housing.

One message he made: since 2018 (someone who was there correct this if Ive got the wrong year) the average D1 program has lost 200 players to the portal - we’ve lost 18. That says something about culture.
