I think the message that he got out was our NIL pays for summer rent, food and parking - not sports cars! Not sure folks understand what a full scholarship covers and what the financial hardships msny of our kids face to deal with those gaps.
it was good to see a lot of new faces, especially younger guys. I thought they said at one point that silent brought in $40k. Live was around $15k. And the spontaneous donations added probably close to $15k. Not sure how much net from tickets vs cost of venue, but a successful night from that angle. Getting the message out to a new group of folks was important.
Having it in the city worked well - opened it to different folks. Can’t keep heading the same folks.
played in golf tournament with Jeff one year and he hosted my wife and I for a barrel tasting through mutual friend (teammate/winemaker). Good guy, good wine
58 items on the silent auction. if you are a golfer, there are some great possibilites (Olympic club); wine-o's will find a ton of choices (Del Doto's cave, Satui's Castle). If you like memorabilia, there's several items with Aggie connections.
In the first half, it was 14-13 us with about 12 minutes left. Sevilla and Daugherty came out (Chappell was already out) and Les dugdeep to get Rawlins in the game - desperate to give short bench some rest. That combo didn’t go well - by the time Conner and Carl got back in at the 8 mark, we were down 27-20, and lost any momentum. No knock on Chase - he’s not not physically ready for a team like Hawaii.
Chappell has been struggling from 3; Conner was off last night. Got to get healthy before Henderson.
stokes took a nasty fall onto his head vs UCR - he wasn’t in the arena so guessing concussion. Cooper has been dealing with some type of leg injury (looks like groin based on how he was being wrapped a few weeks back and how he was walking gingerly before leaving UCR game). Then Omer hurts his ankle in the second half. Yikes!
We just couldn’t get it below 4 down the stretch. We’d get it there then give up a big bucket and get shut out in our end….back to 8. The double T was an odd call - that would have been big.
Without stokes and Cooper (and Omer late) we can’t match up with their length. Add in their deadly 3 point shooting and it’s a tough end of the home schedule.
we’re not going to get any help from the other games unless Long Beach can surprise against Poly. The beach has to win out and Poly lose out else they are missing Henderson. Not likely.
1.5 point underdogs with most sites predicting a slightly higher probability of Hawaii win. Line opened at 2.5 - maybe a sign we are healthier than we may have thought?
Hope it’s a decent crowd especially for Niko - he’s been a hell of an Aggie and a fan favorite. He deserves a nice send off. As does Daugherty who I think is the only other senior.
quite a few big programs especially in the south. The new San Diego state stadium apparently has grass as uses USD. I suspect it’s a matter of maintaining it.
If you take out the Thursday night loss at Hawaii, we are 1-3 on Thursday in SoCal, 2-1 on Saturday. Hopefully, next week we can break the Thursday night skid when we take on the Beach who should be out of the playoff picture.
I never said it sounded lucrative -> that was SocherField's sarcastic reply!
I don't have interest in reading the report (which seems to be in dispute), but that seems like a very big number! Out of town fans flooding the hotels to watch Akron? Local TV/radio contracts skyrocketing? Just seems like a bit of a stretch, but, what do i know.
