I know the UCSB staff is not favorites of folks in our program

they seem to be putting slot of pressure on Manjon and Pepper, they are not getting any space. We had some success with pick and roll inside, but that’s dried up

They are 8-9 from the line, we haven’t shot a FT. Have to get more aggressive going to the hoop

33-21 at the half. Les’ body language on the sideline would indicate he’s not pleased

Picking things up. 15-14 at the 8. That big guy is gonna be trouble for us

Terrible start. Down 11-4 12 to go. Pounding it inside against us
  • Week 2: #23 UC Davis @ #2 Weber State
Forecast is for 48 degrees at game time under overcast skies. I was reading a preview article in their local paper- we’ve not scored a TD there in the last 3 matchups.

I think we need to score a TD if we want to win

Junior? So he’ll be 24 in his senior year, since this one doesn’t count?

We played them tough in the second game and should have won. First game was no contest. Need to clean things up from yesterday to have a chance. We’re not the most talented team, but we have some tough dudes who can rise to the occasion on both ends.

I swear Davis has been around since we joined the Big Sky! Very solid RB
  • Week 2: #23 UC Davis @ #2 Weber State
I doubt they will announce. Hopefully we’re at full strength. We’ll need a great effort to pull this off. And, I’d hate for one of our guys to test positive
  • MBB: Cal State Bakersfield vs. UC Davis, Thursday March 11 at 2 pm
    He’s pretty good, isn’t he?
  • MBB: Cal State Bakersfield vs. UC Davis, Thursday March 11 at 2 pm
Bakersfield are 3 1/2 point favorites which is what I would have expected. We’ll need to shoot well and stay out of foul trouble. That’s been an issue of late

I hit something when navigating back and forth between areas and the font shrunk

it’s going to be worse here when more vaccines are administered. You’ll get the deviant ones who say they’ve been vaccinated and refuse to wear

they shut down the end of basketball, with a goal of resuming for big Sky tournament.

Apparently three players may have been exposed to a Covid positive player Saturday. Hopefully they test negative this week

  • Morgan Bertsch with Scott Marsh

i often have that reaction to any of the student-athletes that Scott interviews. Last week was Kim Conley (former cross country star); in the past Daniel Descalso and Brynton Lemar were guests. All very well spoken with nothing but great things to say about their Davis experience. And the poster-person is Jen Gross -> that interview was really good.

Huge challenge this week. Weber has been the class of the conference for the past years, and we haven’t competed that well the last couple times. Jay Hill really turned it around. They were at the bottom before he got there. Since? 47-30, and 45-20 if you toss out his first season (2-10) with Jody Sears leftovers.
