I was surprised to see UCSD is averaging only 2000 fans per game and that’s padded a bit by the 4000 they announced for ESPN game vs Irvine.

Irvine is drawling a very healthy 2800 per game. I would imagine that’s second in the BWC after Hawaii.

The schedule this year is helping build interest. We play at home tonight for the first time in a month. So much for bounding off a great last minute win! Last Saturday hind game? January 11! So, we’ll go a month between Saturday home games.

Throw in the rain and it’s probably not a great turnout. Let me guess….midterms week?!?!

my Hunter story from Montana. If you recall, we marched from the field to get within the 20. False start, delay of game, false start and the crowd’s in a lather. Ridley goes out and kicks a fairly long FG to momentarily silent the crowd (a miss would have been a huge swing)

I walk up to him on the sideline to tell him nice kick under pressure. He thanks me and walks away. Then turns back and sticks out his hand to say ‘I’m sorry I’m not sure I remember your name?’. And then thanks me for coming. I felt pretty good if we need a pressure kick later.

he’ll never hit the Hurley level. Most of the coaches here with 18 or so years are basically lifetime achievement awards.

Fullerton won 21 and 20 games in 21-22 and 22-23, and now they probably won’t win 10. Not sure what led to this big drop off.

he might still pan out. He’s been hurt the past 2 preseasons, so he’s missed valuable development time. He hasn’t been healthy until well into the season, so it’s been hard to get into the rotation and allow him to get some confidence.

he gets manhandled on defense - that’s something weight training can help with. Offensively, his confidence is not there. He finally demanded the ball with his defender backing off allowing him an open 3, but the first minute of so he was very tentative. Hopefully, just staying healthy and getting court time (preseason practices and games) will help.
