How so? I thought it was similar to football and medical redshirts seem to be common.

I’m wondering if we might see Roberson down the stretch. He seemed to be moving well in the one cameo (vs Hawaii, I think). They might be holding him back for a (another) redshirt, or maybe the knee wasn’t as sound as they hoped. He could be a small jolt here

Montana 2018 was a big deal - we could okay with the big boys and could be a champion/playoff team. And, the stunning turnaround was something to behold!

Stanford was a blessing and a curse. Gave us incredible notoriety BUT left the program in a place where we couldn’t be a FCS contender -> I think the administration thought that game showed we could win at that level with brains and spunk and never funded the program like teams we needed to compete with. Took a decade and changes at Mrak and Hickey to put us on the right path.

6.5 point favorite tonight in what’s pretty critical game. Probably last game we’ll be favored, although CSUN Saturday might be. I doubt we’ll get much tonight (c’mon Fullerton!).

I didn’t realize the dropoff, but in 15-16 they were at 10k a game. By 19-20, down to 5k. They had that stretch where they were briefly good under Counzo Martin ( I think Hawaii beat them in NCAA tourney ?)), then he bailed and they went to the basement under an overmatched assistant. Never recovered. COVID didn’t help.

There’s an article in East Bay Time (SJ Mercury) by Pac12 expert Jon Wilner about the new chancellor at Cal and his emphasis on athletics. Says the right things; interesting to see if they can pull things off. I believe it’s subscriber only unfortunately. I believe you can see it on X if you subscribe ( I do not)

This might not to relevant to the ‘will more recognized schools up out attendance ’ but here goes: Cal’s attendance went from 4600 in their last Pac12 year to 3800 in their first ACC year. Part of that is NOT getting UNC or Duke at home, the other part is losing USC/UCLA/Arizona as attractive games. I’m sure the Cal AD’s aren’t excited about that.

Again, for us it’s a move up in conference status, but still not sure that brings out fans from Woodland on a Tuesday night.

I thought the officials really let Bakersfield get physical that game which threw off our offense (granted, that doesn't take much). If they don't let them be so handsy and we can get to the line, that will really help. I wasn't impressed with their offense. They didn't shot real well, and didn't run many offensive sets - just alot of one-on-one, and trying to generate offense off turnovers.

don’t disagree. I’m nit sure how many in our fan base is looking to pay big bucks for a box. Unless, we can get corporate support
  • Post-Season for the Big West
I would think it depends on who wins the BWC tour. Today, the NET rankings show UCSD at something like 43 along with some heavyweights, snd Irvine at 66 with borderline teams like USF. The strength of the BWC won’t do much for their rankings the rest of the season even if they both run the table. So, if someone other than UCSD wins the conference tournament, I think you’ll see 2 with the
tritons getting a pretty good seed. UCSD wins it? Gets a little dicey for Irvine. I’m not familiar enough with UCI’s body of work, but a quick glance doesn’t show any high level wins that would push them. Seems like, from a quick google, mid 60 NET is the cutoff, and those last schools in tend to be from power conferences .

unfortunately, Poly couldn’t beat CSUN tonight so getting into the top 4 is looking less likely, although they do have a tough stretch coming up.

Montana has 47 suites at $14000 each. And they are sold out. That’s a cool $660K in ticket revenue!

Here’s a link to South Dakota State’s suites. Big money!

85-60 final. Got it to 18 but they pushed to to the 25 difference with a late run.

Tough defense for TY to get shots( Daughtry really struggled. Cooper continues to improve.

Okay, back home and we need a sweep!

They are up 29 with 2 to go and have lost their starters still in. Padding the post season resume?

Agee this announcing team isn’t too good. I’ve been impressed with most of the teams in their knowledge of our team - obviously doing their homework

I don’t recall the wording exactly but when Rocko was talking about fund raising he said an announcement would be coming . I thought I heard summer but might be wrong. Maybe someone else there that night can confirm. No specifics other than the mention of their luxury suite envy ( good bye chancellors tent!)
