  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
    ↪movielover
don't forget just the increase in the budgets of all sports to be able to compete at the next level. The Hornet basketball team i saw last night is not ready for the Pac12.

I thought Leo was the key in the first half comeback. He took charge on both ends. TY hit a few nice shots during that run. Tamba was huge in the second half.

Reason key was stopping Holt. He had 14 points in first 5 minutes, 3 the rest of the way, and he had big turnovers down the stretch. Defense really flustered him.

Next is rematch with Idaho in that might be an empty Pavillion.

he had a ‘class a’ technical with about 4 minutes to go. Looked like he gave the Sac player a little kick after the Sac guy lightly grabbed his leg wrestling for the ball. Gave the hornets four points turning 12 point lead to 8. Plus that counts as a team foul which could have had an impact in what had become a close game.

Based on the offers Larison got without entering the portal, we might not see any names for awhile.

this morning it said 28 Marshall players hit the portal leaving them with too few players to play on the bowl game. 35 Lobos are in the portal!

I can’t imagine why any coach would think they are going to be THE GUY to make the Lobos competitive.

TY’s tech was bad especially after we lost the ball off missed free throw. 12 point lead down to 8. Less than 3 to go. Who is gonna score for us? One or two more buckets should do it

Sacramento isn’t good. We just need to settle down on both ends.

And need TJ to settle down. He’s pressing. 5 TOS.

I think Sac would LOVE to be in the Big West. They are there for Soccer, and it’s a much better fit for baseball/softball. And winter travel for basketball would be much easier.

I had heard we were playing a week 0 game vs Mercer at a ‘neutral site’ (I think mobile Alabama), but nothing was been announced officially.

Someone asked about playing NDSU - we played in 2019 vs Trey Lance.

If memory serves, we threw 6 INT vs SDSU I’m 2021 playoffs. That’s a bad state for us!
  • Is there any Recruit news?

from article in east bay times, it sounds like Dublin played a part in the transfer being denied. Not very specific how

the road into the arena. Either coming from the north or south, it’s often really slow getting in, especially when there are alot of students on foot or bike.

getting out the stadium can be a mess, but the Pavillion is even worse. Getting INTO the Pavillion is often the worst part of my trip to a basketball game!
  • Is there any Recruit news?
Our top recruit, Jalen Stokes, had his transfer from Dublin to Dougherty Valley denied. DV will appeal. Dublin, apparently, objected and asked to have the transfer denied. Ironic since Dublin has benefited from transfers probably more than any other EBAL school.

I’m seeing several places (FanDuel for example) that has the spread at 4 1/2. Wasn’t it around 7 at the beginning of the week?

I’m sure they will use hand signals at times but this isn’t Montana. It’s indoor but only 8000-9000 folks

don't they have a rally at the stadium for all incoming students and the football team?

the lanyards for Team Aggie give you access to pregame hospitality (if you donate at the $1200 level) and to that and halftime hospitality (if you donate at the $3000 level). they aren't just the game tickets.
