Thanks for the info Liz. I’m sure the summer practices along with the European trip will really help the Ags, especially early in the season.

I guess Coach Gross finally gets to use the "us against the world" motivation speech.

I know we have a lot of holes to fill, but 5 seems pretty low. I was thinking 2 or 3 (not that it matters). Team has a lot to prove.

Aggies picked to finish 6th in the new BW coaches poll. That feels about right considering all the new pieces that will have to produce. I watched the ESPN+ preview, about 15 minutes. Nothing really new discussed. Coach Les did say that Anigwe had a knee injury that he was dealing with last year, which probably explains some down games. Hopefully we'll see steady production from him all season.

  • Week 7: Northern Arizona (2-4) @ UC Davis (1-4)
We had another incident in the same section as the one during the USD game. This time it was about 20 ucd students who came down about the 2nd quarter. I think they had a friend on the team and wanted to get his attention. But pretty soon one of the ticket holders started to get reallly really pissed at one of the male students. Not sure what started it. But the older guy started yelling and pointing, then his wife (I assume) started yelling. Then after a few minutes I saw the older guy have his hand on the shoulder (close to neck) on one of the male students. That got both groups standing and yelling (another couple started in on it too). Finally the older couple headed out to get security. Security didn’t seem to want to come down. Finally, a good ten to fifteen minutes later, a guard came down to check the students tickets. They were obvious in the wrong section but they wouldn’t leave. That went on for several more minutes. Finally the guard got on the phone for backup. That’s when the students finally got up to leave. But they had to taunt the pissed off guy (laughing and waving at him) and I honestly thought he was going to go after them. But a couple of women, both sides, pulled the guys apart further and the students left.

This is now twice that we’ve had issues this season and security basically nowhere to be seen. I don’t need storm troopers but can we at least have guards come down when things start to heat up?

After a real down season, it'll be good to have some new faces to root for. Sussman, Epps, Sabel, Baker, and Norris. Rock out Ags!

Glad we won’t have to deal with her this week! Go Ags.
  • Week 3: San Diego (1-1) @ UC Davis (0-2)
Regarding Buchanan, I heard that Chuba fell on him this week ( not sure if it was at the sdsu game or practice this week). The feeling is that he’ll be back soon, possibly this week. He was on crutches last night.

I think that was Chando’s Tacos food truck. They are actually supposed to take over the old red rum (murder) burger location. I heard that a while ago and haven’t seen much movement so I’m not sure that’s still the plan.

Yeah so here’s what I know. The group was two rows in front of us rooting for usd in general and for #7 specifically (he’s from Fairfield so that makes sense). One woman was very loud and bagging a cowbell against the metal benches, which made a terribly sound. Not faulting them at all for rooting for their team. But one Aggie fan asked the loud woman to stop the banging (not the cheering). She did for a while but resumed and actually moved a bit closer to the woman who complained ( this did not feel intentional, just some fluid movement during the game). Aggie fan then started to complain louder. A friend of mine went to intervene, again just asking her to stop the banging. Lots of talking and finally my friend went to get security. Security never showed but a police officer showed up about 10 mins later. He talked nice to the usd fans, who seemed to be a little upset but things cooled down. Aggie fan moved ( or left) and the usd fans left soon thereafter. It could have gotten ugly but fortunately cooler heads prevailed.
  • Record attendance tonight (students and total)
the sideline hype guy does a lot of similar work for the Stockton Ports and the Stockton Kings. He was filling in for Darius, who will be back, and did a very nice job
