• FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington v2.0

Besides, Hawkins and his players will add: It’s not so cold when you win.

“You don’t even feel it when you’re winning,” Doss said.
  • Get the Band-uh to Cheney
Gotta believe the team will be psyched to hear Aggie Fight as they run out on the red turf.Oldbanduhalum

This is a bigger deal than we may think. Great stuff.
  • How long do Coach Hawk and Coach Plough stay?
'05 beat me to it. Plough is next up as head coach IMO.

I think Hawk retires here.....and i don't think anytime soon. Hard to quit when you're having the time of your life! And it sure looks like he is.

Also to note: Plough came right back to Davis as soon as he had the chance, it seems.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: UNI @ UC Davis
looking back....we were 'this close' to blowing that game out.DrMike

    THIS ^^^
Farley post-game was a little off....made it seem like they gave us the game with turnovers.

I watched the local Fox story on Trent Tompkins. This is the perfect Plough/Hawkins guy.
    A few thoughts:
-A guy who doesn't try to win, he's just a winner.
-Perfect Aggie: overlooked, "too small," sharp, motivated.
-Been running an offense for 3 years. Smart kid.
-He doesn't wrap the laces when throwing (small hands?). I wonder if Plough/Hawkins change this?
    -WHEELS
-Hawkins/Plough/Young/Speckman are so progressive on offense, I could honestly see this guy in starting lineup as a true frosh. in the backfield WITH Maier and RB1, running AND throwing bootleg passes. Sounds nuts, but I can see it now. Completely unstoppable.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: UNI @ UC Davis
One thing I noticed: if we get BIGGER at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball in the coming years we could be unstoppable.

UNI was LARGE and in charge at the line of scrimmage.
  • FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals: UC Davis @ Eastern Washington v2.0
Our half of the bracket looks like September in the Big Sky.

Hawkins and company have a tall task ahead, getting ready to make things right up in Cheney.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: UNI @ UC Davis
That moment when Hawk pointed to his hat on the jumbotron......the place went nuts!

Aggie Stadium can be LOUD. Hopefully it showed on TV.

Playoff football is no joke, man. That was a dog fight.

I thought this would really take off after D. Fells. Maybe now catching up.
Throwing the ball around more these days helps too.

My guess is D-Line? Blake Thorpe may have a lock on the future @ TE. Sounds like he's a big deal.
  • FCS Playoffs Round 2: UNI @ UC Davis
Freaking fired up, man. Its almost here.
Looking forward to seeing the tailgate crew, and hopefully some rowdy students. Football gamedays should be an all-day chance to have a blast with friends and rally around the Aggie banner!

Bringing my oldest boy (12), who is stoked too.
  • MBB 11/23: Aggies (1-5) at Indiana (4-1)
Its a long season. This team doesn't look as bad as its record. TJ is a joy to watch.
  • Bring back the Cow Bells for the Playoffs?
Honestly, I think the more Davis residents here Hawk talk abut life and football, the more will show up.
Davis might not have rabid football fans, but there are people who can get behind a positive message and a good time.
    And winning helps.
  • Bring back the Cow Bells for the Playoffs?
Anything we can get into Aggie Stadium legally and make noise!

Student section needs a quick "college football tutorial" pre-game. Some of us old guys might have to go over and take the mic from the MC for like 45 seconds. Basically open your mouth and yell "O" when the other team has the ball. Its that easy.

Dan Hawkins is going to help Keelan Doss' draft stock tremendously.

A nationally recognized coach with fantastic things to say about a great player and person.

People (NFL people) will listen to Dan Hawkins - been there, done that in regard to NFL talent.
