We have a long way to go. We have some great pieces, but the puzzle is far from complete. This isn't a shock, and I'm the staff feels the same.

Valiant effort to be proud of, absolutely. Need to recruit and get better. Hawkins and co probable started working Sunday morning.

I have a feeling we will feel loses like this less and less.
Good things in store for Aggie Football!

Hawkins came into this thing saying he was really excited, but also we have a long way to go.

Defensive line and Secondary seem to be problems, as well as the Offensive Line.
Hawkins has been able and willing to utilize our best players better than Gould. Doss has gone from 5th to 1st in stats, Maeir is at the top of the conference. We have a good QB who can rid of the ball quickly- which he has to do because he has little time.

Overall I think we are deficient in many areas, like last year....but the level of coaching is so much higher its made a huge difference (moral, play calling, in-game decisions)

No matter what anyone says, I've had way more fun this year with a shot at 6 wins, than I did going 2-9.

    Some comparisons to last year:

    BIG SKY CONFERENCE

    OFFENSE
    2016 Total Offense 7th
    2017 Total Offense 3rd

    2016 Scoring Offense 9th
    2017 Scoring Offense 6th

    2016 Rushing Offense 10th (Luuga)
    2017 Rushing Offense 12th

    2016 Passing Offense 7th
    2017 Passing Offense 1st

    DEFENSE
    2016 Scoring Defense 10th
    2017 Scoring Defense 9th

    2016 Total Defense 8th
    2017 Total Defense 10th

    2016 Rushing Defense 9th
    2017 Rushing Defense 9th

    2016 Pass Defense 6th
    2017 Pass Defense 9th
  • UCLA trio arrested in China, incl. LiAngelo Ball
Unreal. Pretty sure if little old SochorField got caught stealing sunglasses in China, he'd probably never see his family again.
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds

San Diego is an expected W, in my opinion, every time.
We can always beat Sac. We have regularly beaten them when they've been "better." Throw the records out.

This program has waaaay more potential with the current coaching staff than the last one.
  • 2018 Recruiting List
Arizona QB Brock Purdy got an offer from Montana State as well.....
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
Don’t panic. Aggie football is in good shape. Waaaaay more competitive than the last 5 years.
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
We have 29,000 undergraduate students at UC Davis.

Aggie Pack did a fantastic job of getting 80 to come to the game tonight.

How is the team supposed to get up for a huge game playing in front 4,500 people and a handful of classmates?
  • Late Season Report Card
    Reviving this thread.

Ags have a great shot at a winning season. The prospect of going 7-4, 6-5, and even 5-6 at the start of the season was the best case scenario.
Hawkins and staff have done a great job with the guys they were given, and who they brought in.

In the later art of the season, Hawkins and Plough seem to have identified that we are unable to run the ball effectively, and have utilized our strength in the passing game. We have enough talent there to keep us in games and even win.
There is ingenuity in the passing offense again (first time since early-to-mid-career Biggs). Hawkins seems to have a talent for identifying players who can make an impact, AND get them into the game to do so.

D-Line and O-Line need attention, but overall I don't think there is one fan unhappy with where we are at!
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
I want 2 wins to close out the season and at least have the possibility of a post season.CA Forever

11/18 @ Sac State might be the biggest game for either program in a looooong time with both teams going for win #7 and a shot at the playoffs.

Major first step for us though....gotta beat SUU!
  • Some new names on the roster
The rumors of Josh Kelley leaving the program appear to be true as he is no longer listed on the roster.CA Forever

Checked the UCLA site.....no touches on special teams or offense for Josh during this Junior year. Maybe red-shirting? Man, what could have been at Davis.
  • Idaho State
I for sure saw him on the Idaho State broadcast out there
  • Idaho State
Maier is really special. I don't think I've seen a release as quick as his. The way he can "flick" the ball deep under pressure is amazing. He not a big guy, but man, he's got a big arm- and very accurate. So thankful he's not 6'2" or he wouldn't be with us.
He reminds me a little of Aaron Rodgers (who coincidentally is 6'2")
  • Will the Fans Ever Really Come Back?
This is so outside the realm of possibility its not even funny.

We have no money and no fan support....and the people that are supposed to get students to the games can't even tie their own shoes.

As far as I know, even North Dakota State isn't entertaining this.

All that said... the program is headed in the right direction. The only thing we should be focused on is trying to get the Idaho State game feed to work tomorrow.
  • Greetings Aggie Fans
This Aggie team is going to have a little fun on offense, and pin 'em down on defense this Saturday. I think we beat Poly 42-10. A well-deserved W after a couple really tough L's.
  • Will the Fans Ever Really Come Back?
Go for it, man. Once they find out its from me it will go in the trash :-x
  • Will the Fans Ever Really Come Back?
As a current student I can't tell you how much it annoys me that we are loud on offense, don't make any noise on defense and that we can only seem to get truly loud when free stuff is thrown. It's ridiculous. I spent a lot of the fourth quarter trying to hush the students while we were on offense and then get us loud on defense. Especially during those big third downs. I absolutely love football and love this school but it's hard to sit in the student section when there is no good direction from the Aggie pack leaders.Fiat Lux

Fiat Lux: Go down during the game and pull one of them aside and teach them. They don't know football.
Or just grab the Mic. DO IT FOR US.
  • Vote for Keelan!
    13,912 to 8,216.
To be honest, with the size of our alumni base on Twitter alone Mr. Doss should have like 100,000 votes. In due time...in due time.....
  • Up to 5 more games to be televised on ESPN3
So big for recruiting....to tell these kids "we went to the Dance" AND "you'll play on ESPN 2-5 times a year.
