NCAA turned down the school’s appeal; I believe the next step is to get lawyers involved.
With all the BS the NCAA does, this seems like a poor decision by them. Don’t count JC years, but count a game that doesn’t exist? Guys are out there for 6 seasons, 4 or 5 schools, but that fits the student-athlete model!
the beautiful thing is that the conference championship games finished around halftime of our game. So anyone switching over would have really been impressed!
Plough mentioned earlier in the week that if we make a deep enough run, there is a chance we could, maybe get some guys back from injury. Any update on guys coming back for next weekend?
Was at the game and consider the late start and that RI does not travel well, not a bad crowd. I am hoping with an afternoon game and dry weather, we will have a better crowd next week (less students perhaps but more community).
The Red Birds have had a murderous run of tough football games to end the season and extend into the playoffs.
Their last 8 games play like this:
vs. #25 Youngstown State L 35-40
@ #21 South Dakota W 21-16
vs. Northern Iowa W 31-16
@ Indiana State W 52-20
@ #16 South Dakota State W 35-21
vs. #24 Southern Illinois L 7-37
@ #16 SE Louisiana W 21-3
@ #1 North Dakota State @ 29-28
Anybody who doesn't think the better team didn't win in Fargo, should watch that film, most of those picks were on tipped balls, and when it mattered, with their season on the line, the Red Birds found a way to beat #1...on the road.
They're played 6 ranked teams in their last 8 games and beaten 4 of them...ALL ROAD WINS, winning in the DakotaDome, Brookings, @ SELA and in the FargoDome.
We are absolutely in for a beast of a fight - and ISU has film on us from last post-season, where, the Aggies dropped 42 on them --- QB Rittenhouse, WR Sobkowicz, Cinci transfer RB Victor Dawson, RB Wenkers Wright and a lot of the impact players from last season are back for the Red Birds, and they sport what may be the best defensive line and LB corps the Aggies will have seen all year save for Washington.
Put the Rhody win behind you - now the real test starts.
I think they will take it considering the switch to a night game one week into sales, the cool weather by CA standards, a opponent from across the country without a huge Montana type fan base, and before finals.
I think in terms of long-term influencing the committee on seeding the Big Sky, there's some benefit to tacking on points. But I agree with getting Harper out there next drive, if we have one
For those in the stadium, Duke just won the ACC championship which plunges the CFP into chaos. Also means this is the last game on so we're going to get a lot of viewers this second half
HAVE A GREAT DAY AT THE GAME YOU GUYS! My god I wish I could go. I'm a part of my aunt's 60th Birthday celebration ceremony... in San Carlos! I even risked my marriage asking my wife what she thought if we drove separately and I left early to drive to Davis to catch the second half while she deals with her in-laws and our three kids.
I wish the students would get their asses out there!
.....and just in the East Bay Contra Costa County alone. 45 min. drive. I've mentioned my frustration with the lack of outreach in the 925 in the past on this board.
Alameda and Contra Costa Counties could pack Aggie Stadium with just recent alums by themselves.
