  • Week 5: North Dakota @ UC Davis
Urgh I want to keep watching this game but I'm at risk of missing a chunk of the SDSU game...

This is the most entertained I think I've ever been by an Aggie offense
  • Week 5: North Dakota @ UC Davis
3 TDs in a minute of gametime, this is nuts
  • Week 5: North Dakota @ UC Davis
The problem with this UCD offense is that if I tune in just a few minutes late I already miss their first score...
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
All right, time to dust off the "root for moral victory" hat. It's been a while old friend.

    Football isn't fun anymore
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
C'mon defense! Still have a chance for good field position
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
The heck? I tabbed away for two seconds when they were on their 2!!!

Do I see the gold pants making a comeback?
  • 2018 Recruiting List
I thought the deal with the huge class this year is that some of the new players are on FAFSA aid and only getting partials. So we might be nearing the head count limit right now but could have a fair amount of funds free
  • Any Given Saturday (Biggest FCS Message Board): "Is UC Davis Back?
If dealing with petty trolls from perennial FCS powers is what being "back" means then I'm not sure I want to be back...

To my untrained eye, Gould seems like a very algorithmic coach, in the sense that if something is technically optimal in an average situation then he'll do it 100% of the time. Ex:

"Manzanares is the best back, therefore he will carry the ball every time he is able to."

"The least risky option on 4th down is to punt or kick, so we will do that every time."

In fairness to him though, David Shaw basically coaches the exact same way and has been wildly successful and praised while doing so. I think the difference is that Shaw has had solid and sometimes prodigal talent to work with -- you can afford to be predictable when Christian McCaffrey is in the backfield.

Ha, if we get 5 wins I'll be happy. 6-7 would push me to ecstatic.

Bryce Love is I think second to Penny in yards this season and outperformed Penny carry-for-carry and basically carried Stanford in the game on Saturday. I would definitely put him in the conversation for the best back in the country and some of that credit has to go to Gould.

I don't know if Stanford fans expected him to call plays or what but he is doing literally the most that could be expected of him in an RB coach role.

UCD projected to finish ahead of EWU and Montana.

What a time to be alive

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear either. I didn't mean to say that the game would be less exciting or important, just that the Ags will definitely be able to make things happen against the Cardinal next year unless Stanford makes some serious fixes. The SDSU QB went 21/29 against them and the SDSU passing attack isn't even that good.

I think you'll get the show you're looking for.

If the Stanford I saw Saturday shows up to the Aggie game next year, well, it's not going to be 45-0 I can say that. They're just slower, weaker, more imprecise, you name it than previous years.

Looking like SDSU was pretty underrated in the first few weeks though. Held back a possibly top FCS offense, then beat ASU in a game that some redditors said wasn't nearly as close as the score looked.

Protecting him? It's one of the most dangerous plays in football and unless he's truly the fastest guy on the team I'm not sure it's worth an extra few yards on returns when they need him in top shape for the ensuing drive.

I'm actually concerned about SDSU using our two best RBs for returns, but they're just so dominant at it I understand that it's just too hard to make the call to pull them.

    very much so.

This day has made me happier than any other day of football in a long time.

Oh I see Kerberos got there first

Don't quote me but this might be the first time since I became an Aggie that we held a winning record against D1 competition at any point in a season.

    What a game
