On the subject of basketball withdrawl, you're all welcome to join me on the SDSU bandwagon. Last CA school left in the field other than Fullerton already (yikes!). #3 Trey Kell reminds me very much of a certain other #3 who played for the Aggies, and has been a joy to watch.

Ags will have a very strong lineup next year. I agree Mooney needs to gain consistency but if he can elevate his game and fill Michael's starting spot then TJ, Siler, and Joe will make for a devastating 3-headed attack in the backcourt. Hopefully some of the new guys or redshirts step up too because only 7 guys who currently suit up are coming back.

I was yelling at the TV during some of the fouls. Hopefully my roommate isn't scared.

Irvine also returns basically everyone and they're southern and a little more established, so they'll get the nod most likely. Ags will probably get picked second once again.

What did the Utah coach do? I tuned in just as he was heading to the locker room. (well, taking a detour to yell some more)

Also what will the TV situation be like?

If this team rallies together like last year then they can do incredible things in this tournament.

In retrospect that's the year I kind of want to forget about the most. I don't think the team really performed to its potential considering we now know how talented that roster was (Graham, Lemar, Schneider, Fox, and Monson are a pretty darn good starting five). And I really don't like having to say "went to postseason in 3 out of the last 4 years" instead of "4 year postseason streak"

I'll be rooting for CSUF to win for the purposes of conference exposure and revenue, but probably won't be watching.

I imagine Fullerton plays with a chip on their shoulder being one of the less-successful programs in recent years. I understand that but now that they're on top they should act like they belong.

I agree, disappointing game but not a disappointing season.

And it's not over yet, we have an NIT to win.

I have to disagree, I think it was a messy situation with no good options for the school.

First, when it comes to announcements there are very strict laws regarding student privacy. And they can't necessarily cut corners with the procedural side of things just because a player is a basketball star.

Second, they (the university investigator) owe it to Chima to perform due diligence before issuing a decision that could seriously impact his education, or insinuate something unsubstantiated that can hurt his potential pro career.

Third, UCD Athletics has a lot of detractors in the Academic Senate and community who don't want to see us go down the "Big Sports" route. A high-profile player getting accused of something serious fans the flames of criticism. Best to leave no stone unturned and make sure to take time to do it right, while also not drawing attention to the investigation before it's complete.

Fourth, it's good to not know his status. It makes the team harder to prep for; I think I even read that one recent opponent (Irvine?) explicitly had to prepare two gameplans for Chima-team vs No-Chima-team. It sucks for us, the fans, but frankly we're not in the need-to-know.

Probably playing the only team that swept us with about the same amount of rest on what's effectively a home court for them.

Oh Big West Tournament how I've missed you

UCI clutches it out. The chalk is holding across the bracket, but barely.

Ostensibly yes but we've had a loss or overtime vs every team left in the field so I'll be scared no matter who we draw

LBSU had every opportunity to do us a favor by forcing overtime but missed something like 5 layups in a row to lose by 2

That's what I have marked down on my calendar. Also I think the Friday game will be shown on ESPNU on tape delay in the nightcap.
