I could see them looking at a possible Montana vs Davis rematch since it would certainly make for a good payday for the NCAA. Montana fans travel about as well as Montana State fans do so maybe they could be taking attendance into consideration too.

That's a lot of players to lose, Kadeezy. No wonder the team is having such a rough season.

I know a lot of Hornet fans are extremely discouraged and quite a few are calling for the heads of the coaching staff. You might want to post the YouTube video of the Tim Plough presser about the upcoming game over on your fan forum. Plough has a lot a respect for the Hornets and says a lot of good things about the team and his good friend, Coach Thompson. It's not just phony, " build up your opponent" talk either; it's genuine respect for Thompson and the Hornets. I think some of your fans need to hear something positive like that.

The Ags are 3-2-3 all time against the Toreros. Last time they met was a 0-0 draw on September 8, 1922.

Maybe not "fishy" but it seems like fuzzy logic to me...

We got to the game around 3 pm and walked around the stadium before going to the Team Aggie tent to get something to eat before the game. Generally, the food is just so-so, but the beer selection is always good and the fajitas they served for this game, however, was pretty darn good. I like the Gunrock Hazy IPA but they were all out and it was only 3:15 pm. So even Team Aggie members were drinking early as well.

Midway into the 2nd quarter, a guy in front of us went to get some food and drinks and came back with a Coors Light and some Belgian brew and told his friend, "they said this is all they have left." So, yes, the vendors and Aggie Athletics were not prepared for the crowd's demand for food and beer. The merch line was busy all game as well.

The Athletics Department and the vendors should have known that the demand for food and beer would be high given the hype of the game and the near dinner time kickoff of 5 pm. They left some money on the table for sure...

This is one of the two main polls that the Selection Committee gives a lot of weight. It's hard to figure out what they're thinking by moving South Dakota up to #4 ahead of the Aggies when the Yotes only beat an unranked, 5-6 North Dakota team by 6 points while we lost by 2 to undefeated, #2 Montana State. Smells fishy to me....

But we want to get to where we are playing Aggie Basketball consistently, and that first half was anything but Aggie Basketball ... The scrappy Aggie team that put a scare into #24 Stanford on just a few days ago was nowhere to be found today as MSU handily beat the Ags 78-59 in a game that was never close.

The Ags never looked energized from start to finish. The Bobcats pounded the Aggies on the boards 45-30 and that included 18 offensive boards that produced 17 2nd chance points compared to 1 2nd chance point for the Ags. The TO bugaboo that has been a problem for the Ags in recent years was there today as the Aggies turned the ball over 21 times which included 11 from their PG's and 5 from Sabel.

Not until tomorrow morning.

Ags fall 79-65.

The Aggies played much better in the second half after a poor first half and managed to cut the lead to 6 with 7:36 to go. TY ended up with 26 after struggling in the first half but the Aggies had no answer to Stanford's 7'1 post, Maxim Raynaud, who had 33 points and 14 rebounds.

Sac HC coaches have never been shy about boasting about how good they were destined to become. I remember Sochor responding to a comment by them saying that pretty soon Sac would be so good that the Davis game would no longer be a rivalry. Sochor replied, "You have to beat us first before you can call it a rivalry." Touché!

I also remember their HC, John Volek, telling the media that Sac was going to become the Florida State of the west and, when that happened, they wouldn't be playing the likes of Davis again.

Rough half of basketball for the Aggies: only shooting 31% overall, 3-10 from 3, 4-9 from the line and out rebounded 28-13. I wouldn't want to be in the locker room with Les right now...

Thanks for the write up, Jdur. I was happy to see that most of the students stayed throughout the game also. That's a big change from what we usually see. We really need to build a great, student fan base.
