  • Rd.2 PLAYOFFS Week 15: UC Davis vs. Illinois State
Yes, the video production quality has gone way up this year. I'd like to see them doing the same thing with basketball too.

  • Electric Vehicles
We bought a Kia Sportage Plug-in Hybrid this year and it's a fantastic car. We had to buy a car on short notice and we weren't sure if we were ready to go full electric yet since we're retired and we like to take a couple of long road trips each year. So we opted for a plug-in-hybrid and it works perfect for us since most of our driving is short trips near our home in Sacramento so 90% of the time we are on all electric. It only has a range of about 34-38 miles electric but that gets us almost to Davis and back on all electric from our home in the Land Park neighborhood.

My brother-in-law has a Volkswagen ID4 and he has driven it from northern Wisconsin to Tucson and said finding charging stations was no problem. In hindsight, I think we could have gone full electric and would have been ok doing long road trips although, some of the remote places we like to go to, would take some prior research to make sure we knew where the charging stations were.
  • Aggies to the Mountain West
I wonder what changes are coming to the Big West now that Davis and Hawaii are out?

Did you see this coming, Mike? You often seem to have some inside info before the rest of us do.

I think the feelings are mixed over on the Big West Boards. Some see the reasoning behind the Davis move and others don't think it's a wise decision. I think most of the folks commenting are just wondering about what the effect will be on the conference now and who might be targets for new membership.

I don't see why our basic athletic values of strong academics and high character needs to change at all. Stanford manages to do it and compete.

I do think we will need substantial NIL funds to be competitive in recruiting though. However, I don't think that Chancellor May and the Athletics Department made this move without considering that. My guess is that they have a good read on that already and that they expect that those funds will grow as we become more compeiitive at this higher level of competition.

When...recently or when Rocko posted the stadium expansion photo?

Where and when did you post this question?

Being able to drive to games at Reno and San Jose is great. Our closest conference games in the Big West were Bakersfield and Cal Poly and both of them are 4.5 hours away. Maybe Pacific, St Mary's and San Francisco will be more interested in playing us as non-conference games now too or, hopefully, Cal and Stanford as well.
  • MBB: UC Santa Barbara at UC Davis, Saturday, Dec. 7, 5:00 pm
Spot on, Mike. Les has a keen eye for underrated, potential talent and, when he gets those players, they usually grow into solid contributors. Sevilla, Tamba and DeBruhl are prime examples on this year's team. Look at Rocak also. Santa Barbara couldn't find a way to use him but Les saw an elite defender and even has him shooting some 3's now. Of course, we have a history of having some of the top guards ever to play in the Big West too and none of them were heavily recruited before they came here yet they grew into elite players. Sometimes I get frustrated and wonder what the heck Les was thinking but I think I just need to shut up...Les is a damn good evaluator of talent and he's an excellent head coach.
  • Hey just found the site! Go Ags!
Afternoon games in September would just be way too hot. We've even had 100 degree days in early October.
  • Quarterfinals Week 16: UC Davis (11-2) @ South Dakota (10-2)
Woodstock's is too small to be the only watch party venue. I think they made a smart move by adding in Sudwerk as well. I sure hope we fill up both places!

Wow...did anyone see this coming? What does everyone think about it? Do you think we were ever considering the WCC as well?
  • Where can I watch past games?
