After his upbeat beginning last spring, he was suspended in fall camp for breaking team rules, according to DeBoer, and he was banished once more at the beginning of this ongoing spring football practice.
In the latest episode, the 6-foot, 164-pound redshirt freshman from Arlington faces allegations of fourth-degree assault in an incident involving him and suspended running back Tybo Rogers and a cyclist in what was termed "road rage" in a Seattle police report. A "do not contact" tag in the NCAA transfer portal means a player entering the portal is not open to random calls or messages from coaches. It essentially allows the player (or their representatives) to control who they communicate with, giving them more control over the recruitment process. This tag often, but not always, indicates the player has a preferred destination in mind or is managing their recruitment through an agent.
Michigan State dismissed defensive end Itayvion Brown from the team last month. The move comes after he was indefinitely suspended from the team beginning in February and later an incident on March 17 that has resulted in Brown facing multiple gun charges.
Brown's legal representative entered a not guilty plea Friday morning for him during a virtual hearing in East Lansing’s 54-B District Court. Brown's not guilty plea -- on felony charges of carrying a concealed weapon and a misdemeanor charge of firearms possession while under the influence -- comes just under a month after the alleged incident. MLive's Matt Wenzel first reported the charges.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — In front of a record-setting spring game crowd of over 7,000 fans, the Sacramento State football team completed its offseason practice with the annual Spring Game at Hornet Stadium on Sunday.
In a controlled setting, the offense accumulated over 500 yards and scored 10 touchdowns while the defense intercepted a pass and forced five tackles-for-loss, including three sacks.
"Sacramento is a football town and we're going continue to make sure we have a great fan experience to bring fans here and give them a great product on the field to be proud of," Sacramento State head coach Brennan Marion said. "I just told the players that's it's really about their work and commitment to the program that's got excitement going and the buzz and the energy. None of this happens without the players' hard work and what they've done. I'm just very grateful to everybody in Sacramento who showed up and supported us."
