Kooper Richardson is transferring to Sac State. Daniel Whelan, John Aloma and Isaiah Thomas will continue to play this fall.

Lineman Kooper Richardson, who captained the UCD football team in past campaigns, will be taking advantage of his extra season across the causeway.

The 6-foot-6, 298-pound Folsom High product will reunite with his younger brother, Kaden, and father, Kris, at Sacramento State. Kris has served as the Hornets’ assistant head coach the last three seasons, with Kaden, a rising junior, joining the fold after transferring from Davis in 2020.

On the flip side, All-American punter and likely 2022 NFL Draft selection Daniel Whelan will be back along with long snapper John Aloma and All-Big Sky Conference punt returner Isaiah Thomas. All three are extending their senior school year through the fall.

WBB news: Trpcic will be leaving for graduate school while Hall and Svanholm will be playing this fall.

One of the top point guards in the history of the UC Davis women’s basketball program Mackenzie Trpcic won’t be back on the Aggie sidelines this upcoming hoops season.

    Mackie T is heading home.

Graduating this past week with a psychology degree, Trpcic, a Hamilton, Ontario, native will continue her playing career at the University of Calgary, where she plans to begin coursework on a masters in kinesiology.

However, her Aggie teammate, fellow graduating senior and 2021 Big West Player of the Year, Cierra Hall, will be back. Hall has told head coach Jennifer Gross that she plans to return this fall, after snaring MVP honors this past spring after posting 14.6-point and 6.8-rebound averages. Davis post Lena Svanholm also has announced her intention to return. The 6-foot-6 international Aggie from Hoersholm, Denmark, will be working on a masters in pharmaceutical chemistry.

 You guys must have pounded quite a few beers. Those 20 year old bladders can hold a lot...not so much once you hit the Golden Years!
  • RIP Rick Mohr
I remember him well from watching him play at the Toom during those great D2 years. Life can be gone in the blink of an eye... RIP.

I agree, TBA. I thought Hawk's comment show just how much he puts the welfare of his athletes first and foremost instead of winning at all costs. He supports allowing athletes to make their own decisions about their athletic and academic careers as it should be.

I think this is a great proposal and it would really help boost the economy in the area.

I really like what I'm seeing in his highlights video. He has great moves off the dribble...crossover, jab and Euro steps with the ability create his own shot with. His passing and assist skills are impressive and he can really leap and play above the rim. It will be fun to watch him develop over the years.

  • Ags Ranked #16 in the FCS Spring Coaches Poll
The Jackson State recruiting 2021 recruiting class is astonishing for an FCS program. Many of his recruits have turned down a lot of Power 5 conference offers. Prime Times's flashy style and reputation has obviously attracted a lot of very talented athletes. The big question now is...can he coach and establish a disciplined, winning program? He's certainly got a lot of impressive talent to start with!
  • WBB: Aggies Playing Pro Abroad
Bummer. I wonder if she will continue to play abroad now or begin to pursue her biomedical engineering career? Jen Gross had said she would welcome her to coaching also.

Well the Big Sky teams exited the playoffs today in very unimpressive fashion. NDSU literally ran the ball down EWU's throat 42-20 and Southern Illinois scored a TD on a 4th and goal with 51 seconds left in the game. EWU's defense was non-existent after the first 8 minutes of the game and NDSU was able to contain and sack Barriere after getting down 14-0 early.

The play that really hurt Weber was a really stupid late hit on a play where the Weber D had the receiver wrapped up for a loss that would have made it 3rd and long on SI's final drive. What made it so egregious is that the Weber player came in with the hit after the SI player was already down. Unbelievable!

So. Illinois has taken a 24-21 lead over Weber late in the 3rd.
