I was not surprised to see that Langi transferred. She came to the Ags as a highly regarded recruit out of HS but never seemed find her game with the Aggies, and when she was on the floor, it just didn't look like she was ready to play with the energy and determination that it takes to play at this level. I hope she does well at the Juco level. She may be able to develop more there and then move up again.

The women's roster has finally been posted. The coaching staff has really revamped the team this year with some exciting new recruits and transfers. Two players have left the team also: Marley Langi who transferred to Skyline College and Kenedy Lilly.

Yes, and Sac had their bye last week.
  • Week 3: San Diego (1-1) @ UC Davis (0-2)
The San Diego presser was excellent and Hawk's comment in regard to the Aggie offense burning a TO on the first play of the second half of the SDSU game was hilarious. Some context here: Misty is Hawk's wife and their son (Cody) is our offensive coordinator:

Hawk said, "I was not happy about that and Misty's son got an earful about it."

I just looked at 5 different FCS polls and the Aggies are generally around #25 or not ranked in the top 25 at all but listed as receiving votes. We won't be moving up no matter how tough our schedule is until we start winning some games against some quality opponents. You simply don't get much respect by losing close games no matter who you are playing.

Wow...imagine a starting QB in the NFL signing for $92,000! That might be closer to what they make per quarter of play!
  • Calgary resigns The Mayor
I assume it's Canadian dollars since the article is from a Canadian website.

Maier is only making $120,000 with upwards of possible $60,000+ in bonuses as the starting QB for the Stampeders. You can get paid a lot more than that just to be on the practice squad in the NFL. No wonder Doss just sticks to bouncing around the NFL practice squads.
  • Week 2: UC Davis (0-1) @ South Dakota State (0-1)
We failed 2 times in our kicking game yesterday that were huge:

    1. Missed PAT after the our late TD. Make it and we probably end up going to OT.
    2. 41 yard FG hit the upright. We make it and we might have won the game considering the final score.
  • Week 2: UC Davis (0-1) @ South Dakota State (0-1)
An 0-2 start is disappointing but those loses have come against FBS Cal and #2 FCS SDSU both on the road. However, we more than held our own against these two tough opponents. We missed a few opportunities in both of those games that could have changed the outcome. I know the team is probably frustrated and disappointed just like Aggie fans but I expect they're going to be very hungry and motivated to begin putting up some W's starting with San Diego next Saturday.

Agree. Our defense gave us a chance even though they got pushed around hard at the LOS. The Jacks RB's rarely met any resistance at the LOS and so our LB's and DB's were making the majority of the tackles. I'm not surprised by this given how big and good the Jacks' OL is.

Gilliam gave our offense a chance almost single handily with his ability to keep going after contact. He didn't get a lot of running room. The Jacks have a swarming defense that's impressive.

Hastings was hit and miss. He missed too many open receivers where the pass didn't really even give them a chance to make a play on the ball. I get nervous when he rolls out because he seems to get tunnel vision and forces the ball into coverage and throws behind the receiver to often. I don't think he is seeing the field well. Of course, Cal and SDSU had tough defenses but the plays were there a few times and the passes were not on target. Hopefully, he'll get better with each game.

We have to be able to make some big plays against top tier competition and we simply have not done enough of that in our first two game. Too many "close but no cigar" plays.

Special teams are a concern at this point. Gomez recovering the onside kick was nice though.
