  • Is there any action on the transfer portal?
I haven't seen anything about potential transfers coming in but I always wonder if any Aggies will enter the portal now that there's so much NIL money to being thrown around by the big time programs. It's encouraging that Lan Larison turned down a $400,000 offer from the University of Missouri to stay here for his final year and that TY Johnson turned down a big time offer in basketball to stay in Davis as well. Those two athletes exemplify the very best in Aggie Athletics. It also says a lot about the tight, family culture that the coaches at Davis build for their teams.

Watch out for San Diego this season...they're the real deal.

Unfortunately, it looks like we lost DL Joey Carillo to injury today.

The Lehigh at #8 Idaho game is still going on. Idaho is up 34-6 at the end of the 3rd quarter so, barring a miracle, all the seeds will have won today.
  • POST GAME THREAD: AGS 42 ILLINOIS STATE 10
I couldn't agree more with Plough. I'm glad he spoke his mind. We had a good crowd for the basketball game against Santa Barbara at 5 pm and, surprisingly, there was a good turnout of students although they sit quietly for the most part.

On that punt fake, it looked like the ball never past the first down marker.agalum

We were looking practically right down the first down line from our seats and it looked like the ball was a good yard short. Everyone around us was shocked when the line judge signaled first down. He made a judgement call from a poor perspective behind where the ball carrier was tackled. I guess there wasn't a good enough camera angle to overturn the call from the replay.

Our run for the National Championship starts today. My wife and I will be there and we hope Aggie fans will be loud and proud. Go Ags!

It would and that would be amazing.
  • MBB: Cal Poly (5-4) at UC Davis (3-4) Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6:00 pm
The Aggies took advantage of Poly having two of their top scoring guards out with injuries. Isaac Jessop came into the game as their second leading scorer at 14.3 ppg an Jared Hyder was their #3 scorer at 13.8 ppg. I think this is probably why Les went small to start the game and really turned up the defensive pressure to force TO's since Poly was down two starting guards.

I'm not sure we can go that small and do the same against the interior size and strength that Santa Barbara has inside though. It will be interesting to see what Les has planned for the Gauchos.
  • Thompson stepping down at Sac State
Quite frankly, that's a shame. Andy Thompson is an excellent head coach. The Sac fans got spoiled by Troy Taylor's quick success and really turned against Thompson. Oh well, their loss in my opinion.

I hope it is a big cowbell. The one's that fans had at the MSU game were so small they were hard to hear. It's great that many of them were donated by some players' families though.
  • Tailgating
I know. It was confusing and it's not the first time we've had some kind of difficulty with ticketing. We also had a big mixup getting our Team Aggie passes. They eventually sorted it out but it certainly wasn't smooth sailing. It took a lot of our time and persistence and was frustrating.

We're easy going when it comes to things like this. We just figure people are trying to do their best but it doesn't help ticket sales when the purchasing process is confusing.
  • Tailgating
I'm kind of surprised about how many season ticket holders did not buy a ticket to this game. There may be a few like us who missed the Team Aggie email and ended up buying tickets but aren't sitting in our season ticket seats.
  • MBB: UC Santa Barbara at UC Davis, Saturday, Dec. 7, 5:00 pm
UCSB will be hoping to rebound Saturday after being upset at home by UCSD.Toke69

I don't think the UCSD win was an upset. The Tritons are a really good basketball team and they showed it by beating the Gauchos in their house. I think they are just as good as if not a smidgen better than Santa Barbara. I'd rank the top 3 teams in the BW currently as #1 Irvine, #2 San Diego and #3 Santa Barbara.

We forced 20 TO’s but had 11 of our own. Crazy game…
